I always used the Blackberry Manager with my besadmin account, but when we went
to 5.0, I got the same issue logging into BAS. The workaround that did work was
setting the account to use DES encryption in AD.

Did a domain controller get shut down or anything? We've had this issue when it
loses the connection to a global catalogue server. There was at least one still
up, but it still caused issues.
I seem to remember something dealing with GCs in a BES MR but can't find it.
When you start typing a name, a lookup option is listed. So if I am in a to
field, and type smi there's a Lookup: smi option. Clicking that will bring up
all the options in the GAL. Note that it doesn't necessarily just bring up
smiths. Smi for me brings up a user S. Miles. along with the
Distrobution groups do sync, but requires OS 5.0. Not sure if it also needs BES
5. I have both and I have a local distribution group that synced.

That's correct. You can use jl_cmder and choose the factory default option,
that will get rid of it. I believe OS 4.3 is the minimum required for that to
work. Some of the settings will stay, still password protected for example, but
they can then be changed.

It can slow the device down, but the other big thing to keep in mind is the
device password. With content protection on, you can only change the device

If it's older installs, it's not that old. When I verified my setup in March, I
was pretty well up to date. I may not have loaded SP2MR4 at that point, but was

Do any of the calls show up in the BES logs? I'm assuming the 4 carriers don't

It does need to be on a separate server from BES, uses Activesync. My
understanding is that the server software is free, cost is in licenses. Keep in
mind, it does not replace BES, though can interface with it. BB10 devices go on
Mobile Fusion, 7 and under stay on BES. We are looking at Good,
