About an hour ago I found a male Eurasian Wigeon on Lilabelle Lake north of
Cochrane. Unfortunately all i have with me is binoculars and cellphone so i
couldn’t get photos. It was swimming around they open part of the
Eurasian Wigeon is showing well at Lee Brown, WMA, Long Point. Lighting is
horrible between about 1000 and 1500.

There is currently a male Eurasian Wigeon at the Moonbeam Sewage Lagoons.
Directions: Moonbeam is on Highway 11. It is 850 km north of Toronto and, 21
km east of Kapuskasing. You can access the Sewage Lagoon by turning on St-Aubin
avenue from Highway 11 and parking near the

It was a windy, wavy day at Owen Point today, like so many fine birding days
I’ve seen there. There were many shorebirds constantly moving around to be seen
including Baird’s and a White-rumped Sandpiper, but what I was hoping to see

A drake Eurasian Wigeon is present at the Erieau Marsh Trail. I found the bird
in Rondeau Bay from the first wooden structure 500 meters from the trail head.
The EUWI was approximately a KM out on the bay looking south from the tower.

I just found a Eurasian Wigeon in a flooded field along Big Creek, east of the
town of Langton. The road is the East Quarterline Rd and has had a Eurasian
Wigeon in recent years.
The ducks were all in tight flock but were starting to disperse across the

A male Eurasian Wigeon was found at 11am this morning at Doug Fluhrer Park,
Kingston, in with approximately 250 American Wigeon. It spent much of its
time sleeping so a careful scan with a scope is recommended. However, a
Red-tailed hawk is patrolling the area, which puts up the gulls and causes

Clear Creek, Rose Beach Line to Erieau highlights included 5 Red-necked

Concession Road E. The bird is in a flooded field with a massive concentration

The bird is a drab male with a dull rusty head (not bright red) so I suspect

immediately to your right with hundreds of American Wigeon. It was not the

The Eurasian Wigeon was there today and as previously reported, it was
relatively close to shore. However, it was on the EAST side of the point
today, as that is where the calmer waters were - in contrast to most
previous reports that had it just west of the point.
Go to the south end of
The wigeon is just west of the point, and not far off shore. Likely near
where it has been for several weeks now. Go to the south end of Thickson
Rd. Take the paved path going southwest. When you get to the sign that
says You are Here i.e. at Thickson's Point, you should go at least another

The long staying Eurasian Wigeon was seen today on Lake Ontario
just west of Thickson's Point. It is hanging out with a flock of Gadwall
and American Wigeon's.

This morning just after 10:00, we were scoping the Bay off the Rondeau Park
dock and Steve spotted a fine male EURASIAN WIGEON. It was not far off the
left side of the dock feeding on the large matte. *The dock is not far
The male Eurasian Wigeon is still on the lake west of Thickson Point (opposite
the gazebo) along with 2 Brant.
We also spotted an adult and a juvenile Northern Shrike as we walked along the
trail
White-winged Crossbills are still in the tall spruce trees on the south side of
Thickson Woods.
The bird is there this morning. Found it at the point feeding with A. Wigeons
and others. Directions as per Glenn Coady, who was also here this morning.

The Eurasian wigeon was present this morning on the lake near the gazebo at
Thickson's Point. A saw-whet Owl was near the green map sign, in a spruce tree,
and a Barred Owl was by Corbett Creek. Other birds in the area included
American Pipit, a Yellow-rumped Warbler, Common Redpolls, about 20
A stunning eclipse male Eurasian Wigeon was seen by myself and my patient
daughter, Diana, among the hundreds of American Wigeon and Gadwall this
morning at Thickson Point. It is still mainly in non-breeding (summer)
plumage except for the buffy forehead.

I headed to Ft Erie yesterday around 5:30 pm and was able to see the
Eurasian Wigeon. At Jaeger Rocks there were 150+ Boneparte's Gulls, many with
hoods, a few Ring-Billed Gulls, American Wigeon, Gadwall, American Black
Ducks, and Red-breasted Mergansers.
