While scoping (unsuccessfully) for Tim's scoters off Stewart Park, I had a
flock of 270 BRANT fly over, heading south. In the near-shore waters were 19
Ruddy Ducks, 2 Hooded Mergansers, 3 Pied-billed Grebes, plus Mallards, Coots,
DC Cormorants, and assorted gulls. 1 pm.

Regarding Meena's lack of Fox Sparrows - I spent the morning trolling
Connecticut Hill WMA for anything interesting to record. There were three Fox
Sparrows (red) calling as they foraged around the beaver pond. Lots & lots of
Robins. Many Juncoes. And three Purple Finches.

On Oct 30, 2013,
The Nelson's Sparrow was still present at 2 pm. West side of the pond at the
Liddell Lab.
And the scoters remain. Best viewed from the east shore, along the tracks,
where East Shore Drive starts up the hill.

the public. Come to see ducks, grebes, maybe a few late loons, and possible
Snow Buntings.
