I use Scotch 3M heavy duty clear shipping tape. (not the one with string re-enforcement) You'll find it everywhere at Walmart, Acme, Staples, CVS, Walgreens. Outside, it should last for a few months until the UVs get it. I also use it when I overdrill holes. I tape the underside of the hole

The original carbon steel idler is no longer available from edson. You'd have to make modifications to the deck in order to replace. I thought I remembered the idler being ~$400. Maybe I'm mistaken. The replacement cables are ~$100. The work isn't that hard but it is a little bit of a PITA.

FWIW, I have a set of genoa sheets made from 3/8" red MaxiBraid. which I got for racing. I spliced luggage tags into one end and use a soft schackle to attach to the sail. Chose Red to help prevent a problem when crew stood on the tail of the sheet being released, and the genoa caught on a

Folks, I'm starting that long journey to a bigger boat. I'm looking for a 34+ with a 5 ft draft. My budget most likely will not allow for a long delivery. So I'm looking at boats located in the Chesapeake to Maine, on the East Coast. I'd also consider a CS 34 or 36 with the transom step.

Dave has Stemball Fittings on his shrouds, not T-Ball fittings. He probably has a t-Ball Fitting on his Baby Stay (and on his running Back Check Stays if he has them) but that's about it. T-Ball fittings need the rubber plugs, Stemballs don't. A reference here:

UPDATE: Boy am I glad I asked you guys about this!  I went up the mast yesterday - the toggles on these two shrouds were not pulled all the way down seated in their sockets, thus causing the unfair lead out of the mast.   I hate to think what might have happened if I loaded up the rig and
