If your goal is to put the Ram mike close by at the helm, I’d advocate for a
cockpit bulkhead mount rather than a helm mount. The reason being is that
inside every microphone/speaker happens to be an active magnet and the movement
of that magnet tends to play havoc with compass

I've been racing Wednesday nights at New Bedford YC since 2001. First on

Those are Merriman Blocks but unfortunately, they’ve been out of business since
the late 1980s. I have found that using a penetrating lubricant such as PB
Blaster, I’ve been able to free up seized sheaves on old blocks, and then added
a liberal dose of McLube to the sheave pin area
Mk V C 27. Ticks all the boxes and puts money back in your pocket.
My friend Bill Dingwell bought one after selling his C 40 and still kicks
butt in local PHRF on Buzzards Bay.

To echo Edd’s suggestion, if your engine transmission engages by manually
moving the lever on the gearbox but not using the shift control at the
pedestal, I too believe the problem to be cable or engine control related.
