Hello,
I am a new member of both Darktable (approx. 5 months) and this list (just
subscribed).
I'm currently trying to take in hand DT, and I thing I just found what could be
a bug.
I'm using a Dell E4300 laptop with 8 GB of RAM running Ubuntu 14.04 LTS.
The version of Darktable is 1.6.7+4
ore than 1 time before.

Hello,
I was wondering whether the place of each effect into the history is important
or not in the final result.
If so, where can one find the order the effects (or processes) have to be
applied in ?
Thx,

Hello,
When importing files, some effects are automatically applied, which may or not
be useful or wanted.
In my case, I would like to get rid of sharpen and orientation, but I didn't
find the way to do this.
Of course, I know it is possible to create one's own presets and apply them at

Nice shot Ary,
I'd use only those modules :
- basecure = similar canon eos
- white balance = spot
- lens correction = on.
I would not use profile denoise nor raw denoise as they erase the dim meteor
that crosses from the center to 1/10th top right.

Hello,
I recently wanted to see how different could be a photo exported with basic PPG

I couldn't notice any difference between them, so I assume that either 1- the

Hello,
I'm personnally using the following scheme :

Anyway, I can't see why Tony's scheme would behave as you describe. There must

Hello,
You might pin your preferred effects into the favorites tab.
But, once again, the order you will apply them in won't matter at all, as they
will be proccessed the way they appear within the tabs.
If I understood correctly, the effects have to be applied in the right order to

Do you know... that I never noticed this before ?
You're perfectly right : DT current release displays time 1 hour later than
actual one !
How can I be sure ?
I use Rapid Photo Downloader to transfer my photos from the card to the disk,
and I
make it rename them upon their timestamp, as HHMMS

Hello,
All is in the subject : 20 sec. to export a 100% jpeg, I find it rather slow.
1.6.9 on core 2 with 8 GB ram and usb 3 running 14.04 LTS. Will take 85 mn to
export 256 jpegs !
Some bad settings there ? What might I have missed / done wrong ?

Hello,
When copying / pasting settings from a picture to another, only the results are
applyied.
So, if I apply lens correction from a picture that was taken at 70 mm to
another that was taken at 24 mm, the result won't be correct.
And so on for every other setting.
Is there a way to copy

Thanks to all for your explanations.
However, the behaviour I would expect in my way to think is :
a- I copy the settings form a picture
b- I (some extra key)-paste to a series of pictures
c- nothing obvious happens straight after, but
d- as soon as I open one of the pictures in the darkroom,

Hello,
Two years ago, a friend of mine took a series of photos with my camera which
time was still set to CET as it was CEST.
So, the pictures being -1 from real local time, I used xnview to correct this.
Then I named them as HHMMSSsss (Hours, Min, Sec, Subsec) upon the time read

In fact, I think that Philippe is right : adding RPD capabilities to DT would
be an excellent idea.
ATM, DT is absolutely not capable of what RPD does.
RPD can import files from the memory stick to a location, Dt only imports them
into its library, letting the transfer itself to the user.
RPD

Hello,
DT print module works fine with current RC.
I only printed one photo, didn't try printing many because I don't need to
waste time,
paper and ink, I was happy with the printout.

P.S. : is there still double CR between lines ?
