Further research: I can work around the problem provided I turn off the
internet connection and manually set up the IMAP and SMTP settings.
Provided I set the SMTP to mail.crosswire.org I am allowed to put in a
security exception and after that, I can change the SMTP address to a
different one
As stated it (kind of) worked before.
The related sources were only touched by
lp-1085169-we-overactivate-here-as-it-does-not-seem-.diff.
So I will rebuild the precise backport with that patch disabled.
