I want to get back to this project this summer with my box still unused. Considering Vortexbox comes with Plex I find it strange that they emphasis Musi so much, reading https://wiki.vortexbox.org/what_is_vortexbox you would only think it deals with music. boardtc's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=16085 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=110583 ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/discuss

Any thoughts? The "4m[terminated]" is a known problem. I don't know why but all is fine with VM's but not with physical machines Yes Networking is not enabled by defualt, you can change this with nmtui at the prompt. You trial everthing by using Etcher to burn the image to a usb stick and run it from the usb (use persistance and the setup will be saved). According to my web search the T7 has an Atom D510 processor which according to Intel is 64 bit (https://ark.intel.com/content/www/de/de/ark/products/43098/intel-atom-processor-d510-1m-cache-1-66-ghz.html). If the T7 boots from USB, that would probably be the easiest way. Fitting an SSD inside the HD slot shouldn't be an issue. I don't know whether SSDs still come with an adapter frame for this purpose by default nowadays but even if they don't these should be available separately. I have the music stored on external drives actually, not the T7 - I never got around to utilising it. Upgrading to an SSD sounds spart if I can do it afforadbly! The internal storage of the T7 is 500GB SATA (Optional 4x USB HDD ports, here's the 7 spec https://pasteboard.co/Ig17NQb.png), no DVD/CD. I'm unsure about fitting a SSD in the HDD place... boardtc's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=16085 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=110583 ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/discuss

Have you tried simply powering it up and checking to see if it still works? It probably will - perhaps might need IP address change if you used a static one that is now in a different range or is already used by one of your other devices. Yes that is correct, you'd have to identify the processor etc in the Tranquil as some were 32bit only and some Linux distros now (Including my favourite Centos) are 64 bit As long as you can find a decent distro I think it will make a good LMS server Jeff *Players:* SliMP3,Squeezebox3 x3,Receiver,SqueezeLite-X,PiCorePlayer x3 *Server:* LMS Version: Latest Nightly on Centos 7.5 VM on ESXi 6.5.0U2 on Dell T320 *Plugins:* AutoRescan/BBCiPlayer/PowerSave/PowerSwitchIII/Squeezecloud/Spotty/Player Groups *Remotes:* iPeng9/Orangesqueeze/PC/Jivelite/SqueezeLite-X *Music:* 522GB,1660 albums with 23087 songs by 5204 artists mostly FLACs *Want a webapp ?* See http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?104305-Webapp-for-LMS Jeff07971's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=49290 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=110583 ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/discuss

[slim] Returning squeezeboxer looking for server advice
4 years ago I packed up my Tranquil pc T7 which ran WHS and I used for a Squeezebox server for an original sqeezebox and a boom. I loved it for accessing the BBC, Deezer and Soma radio. We moved house and the kit is still boxed up now! _But_ we now have finally completed the (smart) wiring in our house and I am looking to get my squeezeboxes going again! I am well aware of Squeezebox being terminated a long time ago but delighted that the community is ongoing! I am assuming (and praying( I will be able to access Deezer, Soma and 6music! Probably no one is using WHS! It's old! Current fanless solutions are sweet but expensive, e.g. https://tranquilpcshop.co.uk/rugged-intel-core-mini-pc/ What can people recommend for a cheap and reliable Squuezebox server? boardtc's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=16085 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=110583 ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/discuss
