Heyaz. Anyone out there running a Linux echoServer instance
on a VPS server using the Virtuozzo or OpenVZ platforms? Got some
basic questions...

Hello! I think Bitcomet is a BitTorrent client, which is used to
download
files from the cloud. EchoVNC, on the other hand, is used to connect to
someone's desktop across the Internet for, say, remote technical
support.
So you don't need EchoVNC for Bitcomet, or vice-versa ...

Hello! It sounds like you're running an older version of our software,
one of the 1.x versions. The current release is 2.35, which is a lot
more
reliable in automatically reconnecting.

Hello! If you're connecting to your echoServer from a PC on the same
network as the echoServer, you'll need to login to it using the LAN IP
address,
not the external IP address.
To connect to it from the external side, you'll have to open a port in
your Linksys box. Detail

Wow, a perfect debug report. Now I feel compelled to actually help
fix the problem. :)
The very latest source is on the CVS server at SF:
http://echovnc.cvs.sourceforge.net/echovnc/echovnc/echovnc_linux/
Any chance you can grab a snapshot of that and see if it still

Heya. Only thing that comes to mind is to make RDP connections
to the XP machine instead of VNC connections. If you activate the
"connect to console" switch, you should get control over any popups.
Downside is that the remote PC's screen goes blank when you connect,

Hello! The .conf file as it comes out of the box is a pretty good
example of a working file ... just start up the echoServer using that
file, and it should work fine.

Heya. Have to ask ... is your echoServer registered? :) The
"disconnection"
happens when the echoServer drops the data channel, and every 10 minutes
is what the echoServer is supposed to do, in the unregistered state...

Hello! I believe that the echoWare client sends an "IsAlive" message
(about 30 bytes) to the echoServer once every 10 seconds, which works
out to about 250kB a day, per EchoVNC client. The echoServer uses
these "heartbeats" to detect relatively quickly if a client is still

Weird...it sounds as if the DSM plugin option got enabled, either
on the Viewer or Server side. Haven't heard of that happening before,
without the user actually activating it, of course. What flavor of
