of it. My current main rig is an Icom IC756Pro3 - which I love. I had
an early K3 and when the economy tanked I had to sell it. Now that I'm
back on a more even footing I decided I can't live without another K3.
Current price of the Icom IC756ProIII is 2699.00. And what's wrong with
discussing price/performance comparisons of the K3 VS: other mainstream
and popular rigs? Sure beats the constant debate on Elecraft's ability
to meet shipping schedules.

I get glowing reports on my K3 audio with the HC5 element. It would be
very nice to have a K3-compatible plug-n-play desk mic with the HC5 element.
Also, I've had a bit of trouble finding 8-pin foster mic plugs. This
might be a nice thing for Elecraft to stock.

I must admit I placed a dab of thermal grease on each of the LPA final

On my last order to my favorite computer parts vendor I added an
inexpensive ($9.00) computer-type headset with mic. These turned out to
be somewhat cheaply made - but not bad, with good sound quality and are
reasonably comfortable. I plugged them into the K3, set the appropriate

and DSP that also controls the passband through software means. But
what exactly is meant by a roofing filter? How is it different then say

I agree with Chuck. I have all the Yaesu knobs because I have all the
Yaesu rigs. The K2 knob with the finger dimple is excellent. I think
you need to be careful about the amount of pressure the knob has on the
felt. At first I had it to tight. After a few tries I got excellent
feel with
