I am also working some CQ 160 stations with my new today K3 # 2452 with my
Zero Five 43' vertical. The short vertical works much better than a low full
size dipole I also put up today.

My K3's receiver also works and sounds great on AM. I have probably spent
more time listening to AM broadcast with it than anything else thus far. I
use my old Yaesu SP-8 external speaker and it sounds very good to me - and I
have tried cranking it up pretty loud, and I hear no distortion at
