If you are taking about a Flash based SSD do not worry about wearing it out. You will expire before it will. Also the average life of a conventional hard drive is much shorter. These SSDs are being used in place of mechanical spinning drives in all but the lowest end cheap computers now.

The firmware inside the SSD does a good job of writing to the entire drive to avoid wearing out one small area if a file is rewritten continuously.  You can probably plan on 100,000 or more write cycles to the entire drive before the FLASH memory wears out.  Again, the SSD controller manages

Is the motherboard AGP 8x compatible? There can be issues plugging an 8x video card into a board with a slower slot. The AGP standard has provisions for backward compatibility but they were for the most part optional. Many 8x cards are 1.5 volt only, though some can tolerate 3.3V or 5V. IIRC
