For some reason, this strikes me as funny,
like an insult you'd hear in an Oliver Stone
movie: "You African fat-tailed gecko!" :-)

[FairfieldLife] Pronunciation of 'kohelet'?

2013-07-29 Thread card

Anyone know how 'kohelet' (Preacher; according to Wiki, actually
'gatherer', like 'vyaasa') should be pronounced?

For some peculiar reason, I tend to pronounce it approximately
like 'ko-HAY-let' (stress accent on the second syllable, :0 )

You are consistent Ravi, just in the Ravi way. And if you want to be like me,
you would have to be a lot older, so you would probably die 30 or 40 years
sooner than you expect. But if you wait 30 or 40 years, guess what?
[disclaimer: does not exclude accidents].

If you really want to be like me, I suggest you meet with an experienced mental
professional soon to discuss your delusion.

Yeah, Yahoo loads very slowly at times. In my emails the images do not show.
They are not in the email digests I get because the digest assembles the page
using JavaScript, so in email, the information is going through a lot of hoops.
I could not look at the code on the page to see if the reference to the images
was correct because the references to the images is being created on the fly as
the page displays.

By switching to Firefox with a plugin, I could read the generated code in the
digests, and the image links are not there, only the alternate text in the
links I put in the original post is being displayed, so the links to the images
are completely eradicated except for that. So Yahoo stripped out the links. I
almost never look at the digests.

2013-07-29 Thread Xenophaneros Anartaxius
Alex, I am thinking of setting up an account somewhere for images. Normally I
do not post more than one at a time. I just did not have time today. All images
showed when I initially posted. But now Yahoo is inconsistently loading two out
of five. I think their severs are overtaxed, and they may be limiting bandwidth
in various ways. For example if not logged in, it is sometimes not possible to
load messages even if there are no images when the bandwidth limitation has
been exceeded. I get that a lot because I sometimes just read for a couple of
days, and only log in if I am posting, or need to see a message that Yahoo
blocked due to bandwidth restriction.

Maybe you're right. On the other hand, probably goes on the end of the
list of things that are wrong with me. But I confess that it's what I
had for dinner tonight..followed by a big piece of home made
peach pie, made with locally grown peaches, topped with whipped cream.
Oh, the tomatoes were locally grown too. Maybe that will help a little.

On the other hand, I did have a colonoscopy a week ago, Saturday, so I
got a good colon cleanse out of that. Report came back good. I figured
it would.

You naughty gurl!
Red onions are rad!
West can be good for certain rashi's (I do not believe an east entrance is good
for everyone. Shhhcould loose my dome badge. I like my moffing...(hopping
the muff.)
Greeks are good. In fact, I get to look at in the next day or so. :)
WTF? You are NOT allowed on MUM Campus?
What is a RWC cult?
How many people had to rebuild their Vastu? heh.
Canadian by injection! Ya!

He forgot the onions. You have to eat a Greek salad with lots of luscious,
smelly juicy onions. I am pretty sure those aren't good either. Now I have a
west facing front door, love a Greek salad, I'm not allowed on MUM campus, I've

[FairfieldLife] Re: Xeno's Neighbourhood

2013-07-29 Thread Ann
Those are beautiful images Xeno and nothing is modest about them. I could only
see them in the "new photo" section of this site however.

My city is modest also but with lots of natural beauty and some reasonably
historical buildings. I like the balance of the nature that surrounds me here
and the smaller, quainter scale of my city. I think being surrounded by water
on all sides (I live on a peninsula) is very cleansing and healthy. Today the
marine/air/fog/cloud blew in off the water and brought a salty, seaweedy smell
and with it a cool, moist feel. I was riding my horse in the arena at the time
and it was wonderfully atmospheric and refreshing. And still, just 20 minutes
away, is theater, great shops, wonderful restaurants and museums.

Brewster NY is beautiful. I was born in upstate NY and lived in Connecticut for
a while. I also went to Colgate University before MIU and Hamilton NY was tiny
and charming.

On Mac and Windows, with various different browsers, only 3 images show up for
me, regardless of whether the browser is logged into Yahoo or not. In Chrome,
on my Macbook, no images showed up on the website when I clicked on his post,
so I refreshed, and then three pics showed up. In my Gmail feed, which I read
in Thunderbird, no images show up; they don't show up on the Gmail website,
either. I have no idea why all images show up for some people and not others,
but Yahoo is simply not a reliable image host for allowing everyone to see the
pics.

I'm thinking the only way these communities that have proper vastu and planning
etc are going to reduce crime, is that you have to pay a lot more money for
them. Meaning you'd have to be quite successful and educated to afford a home
in one of these communities and probably a meditater as well which will leave
out the riff-raff, no drugs welcomed and the like. Not  a fertile breading
ground for crime. Doubt it would be because of any woo woo rays.

perverse ersatz colonial dead looking empty boxes. There is absolutely no
character, charm, nuance or feeling to either the
individual structures or the uniform and frightening-looking geometric and
stilted city plans as a whole. Who wants to live in a city of grids and
uniformity where every building resembles the other? I'd rather be dead. It
reminds me of some "Brave New World" format. I'd rather live in a place more
akin to that British village where the 60's series "The Prisoner" was filmed -
Portmeirion. What a wonderfully creepy series that was but at least the
buildings had character. However, I would envision the characters of "The
Prisoner" to live in some of these Vastu cities. Yoiks. Ann, You don't have

worth a try. If proper city planning can reduce crime and make the citizens
successful, then I'm for it. You should visit Vedic City and tour inside one
of these vastu houses. You might like it. I myself have not been in one,
although I've seen many pictures of them on the internet.

Why I see all the pictures on the website and in my email. What is the
recommended way to post pictures? My earlier message with pictures got

IMO, the only thing idiotic is his insistence on using Yahoo as his image
server. Only three pics show up on the website, and none show up in email. I've
explained this all before, so I can only conclude that he suffers from chronic
willful pebkacery syndrome.

Hey Ravi, How is your day today?
Xeno can't help he is in bluebloodville of the NE. Some interbreeding occurred
somewhere in the near family tree of his, still he posted pretty pictures. You
see he had to comment about getting cool in the public library...which means,
he may not have air conditioning in his cabin, which means he may be more
modest than we think. ;)

Re: [FairfieldLife] JFK Shot by US Secret Service Agent

2013-07-29 Thread Share Long
noozguru, I ask this question seriously: what is to be done about all this?
Kennedy, 9/11 and even Princess Diana? Yes, I think she was murdered though I'm
not sure why. About Kennedy I as usual get my info from movies like JFK.
Remember that in Kali Yuga, truth is presented in the guise of fiction.

What can we do in the face of this our karma, to have such corrupt leaders?

PS I wonder how the latest bid to take down Monsanto is going.

This was actually reported by ABC News over the weekend. I heard it on
KGO. Of course I never believed the "official story" of the JFK
assassination. Too many holes in it just like the 9/11 "official
story." JFK was beginning to call fie on the rich old white men who
were running the country. When billions are at stake the asshats will
stop at nothing to get their way. They will pay the top professionals
to set it up and create scapegoats. "Official stories" are also known
as "propaganda."

I made these photos today, 29 July 2013. Gas prices for automobiles here is

Xeno's neighborhood? A very egotistical, narcissistic statement..

Things like modest, opulent are all relative. What is modest for one is
very grand for another. What's expensive gas differs from state to state,
not to mention country to country and the whole doesn't even fucking care
if you had like fucking walked all the way to Manhattan.

These pictures look pretty awesome to me but does that make me look
un-cool? Un-spiritual? So let me revert to a Universal disinterested
persona here and say that Unity doesn't care, Unity doesn't fucking care if
Paris, Brewster, Victoria, Encinitas all looked like Maharishi's vapid,
vacuous, vaastu-fied Vedic Cities. So yeah at a relative level it may be
interesting, like black and white, green and blue but at the whole, it's
all gray - you hear me, just plain old fucking gray, as gray as your hair.

So I DON'T FUCKING CARE for your pictures - you hear me? You old,
gray-haired, senile, unevolved idiot !!!@#$%$!!!

A Methodist Church in Brewster. A monument to a sky god.

rather expensive if you cannot find a free spot away from the denser
parts.

I made these photos today, 29 July 2013. Gas prices for automobiles here
is currently around US$4 for a US gallon which comes to about 0.60 Euros

Lyndon Johnson and I think he ended his life with a lot of remorse about it.
Its not a new theory , I remember the photo of his looking to Lady Bird and

[FairfieldLife] Re: JFK Shot by US Secret Service Agent

2013-07-29 Thread John
Bhairitu,

I looked at JFK's natal chart again using Bhrigu Nandi Nadi techniques and
found that the reporter's idea may be true. Essentially, at age 46, JFK ran
into the jaws of Rahu represented by the transit of Saturn into his natal Rahu
placed in Sagittarius.

Rahu is disposited by Jupiter placed in Taurus, meaning that JFK was
susceptible to jealousy and backstabbing from among his friends.

Rahu signifies a foreign doctrine like Communism. It could also represent a
secret group that has its own agenda for running the government or economy.

Lee Harvey Oswald is represented by Mars placed in the 12th house of Jupiter.
Mars is in conjunction with Mercury, which is the agent of death, who together
conspired to shoot JFK in the back of the head.

I've cut down the detailed explanation of the jyotish rationale for conciseness
in showing the assassination that occurred. I hope this helps in describing
the karma involved.

JR

I'm thinking the only way these communities that have proper vastu and planning

Thank you Share - excellent post.  Midway is the recipient of much debris in
the Pacific Garbage Patch.

On a backpacking trip a couple of years ago to a stretch along the northern
coast of Washington, I became outraged at the number of plastic water bottles
littering the beach.  I filled up a large garbage sack (also plastic) within a

Anyone with an IQ over 80 (Low Average) could learn
everything necessary to become a TM teacher in a
month, tops.

Back when I attended TTC, the courses were three
months long, and didn't need to be, even then. And
that was during an era in which the TMO had to pay
hotels so that their students could stay in them.
A three-month course cost $2,500.

Now, this organization that you say has over 3 billion
in assets has facilities out the wazoo at which these
potential new TM teachers could stay during their
courses, and they're all largely empty anyway. So why
should it cost $12,000?

Let me give you a hint: the operating word is GREED,
pure and simple.

They have no effective income coming in from anyone
starting TM, so the only way they can think of to
generate any is to fleece existing True Believers
by charging them this much to learn a "skill" that
they will probably never use, because no one from
the organization that taught them how to be teachers
will help them in any way when it comes time *to*
teach.

Ann,

The use of the north entrance is good. But the west facing main entrance is
definitely not recommended by Maharishi vastu principles. If you're happy and

Buck,
Are we still permitted to host our own group programs off campus? I remember
way back when the tone was that we were not supposed to do that. Then about a
year prior to the IA program starting, Marharishi said that we should in fact
do that. We should have program halls all over town to make it easier for
people to get to program. That was a little surprising because back then, a
Dome sticker was $100/month and I could only afford that on a sporadic basis.
Next someone opened up a mens' flying hall in the basement of the Neon Tetra
building and was charging $35/month. I tried to get in but they were at
capacity. Then they stopped charging for Dome stickers and the $35 flying hall
closed. If I can host a free 5:45AM to 7:10AM early bird program, at least for
men, in my living room, is the directive permitting group flying halls off
campus still in force? If so, can anybody sell me some used foam cheap?

And incarcerating people for using a rather harmless herb isn't damaging

[FairfieldLife] Re: Unexpected Effects of Pot Farms

2013-07-29 Thread martyboi
All farming damages the environment. Growing pot is illegal in California. If
if were legal, these hidden pot farms could be moved to ordinary farm land and
regulated and less damage would occur. Additionally, legalizing the use of the
non-high-inducing relative hemp would save our forests, produce alternative
fuels, clothing materials etc. I would say that the growth of the "pot
industry" is a sign of the growth of consciousness in the world.

Any TM meditator knows that pot is not good for the physiology as far as the
experience of clear transcending is concerned - which is why they make you wait
two weeks before initiation. But, that doesn't mean there aren't legitimate
spiritual paths or experiences that can be engendered by proper use of
marijuana. As you know, ganja is associated with worship of Siva in the Hindu
traditionwhich makes it holy.

[FairfieldLife] Afghan Relief

Can you not help?

Bringing Equal Rights to that part of the world. Here is a noble Afghan to
help along the way. This young person is very brave and I believe should
garner our support. Send her some money to help her on her way. Cheaper than
sending an aircraft carrier task force but could be a substantial spiritual
relief to that part of the world.

I was born in Kabul, Afghanistan in 1981, a year after the beginning of the
Russian Invasion. I don't think that Transcendental Meditation (TM) has been
taught within the borders of Afghanistan.  With all the pain and suffering that
has been experienced in Afghanistan, that is both surprising and not
surprising.  Somehow the nature's support hasn't quite been there.
I know the power of TM, through my personal experience and through the benefits
my family has experienced.  TM has brought a great deal of peace to members of
my family.  My deepest desire is for everyone, particularly my fellow Afghans,
to have access to that experience.
Thank you for sharing my road to TTC.  So far I have raised $600.  $11,400 to

[FairfieldLife] Questions I Have

2013-07-29 Thread Ann
I found these on some Vastu sites.
The first picture seems to indicate that you must approach a vastu house
with hands clasped solemnly behind your back and in single file
whereupon a robotic like greeter awaits to escort you inside. The big
question is, however, are those coloured balloons in keeping with the
vastu influence of the abode?

And what about this little gem with its lack of curb appeal? Are vastu
houses supposed to have an exposed economy vehicle parked smack dab at
the front of the house? And does the colour of the car need to match the
roof colour? Does the pointy thing over the entrance double as a TV
antenna or is it the hood ornament removed from the neighbor's car?

[4 Beautiful House Elevations Kerala home design Architecture]
Below is another architectural gem which can't decide if it is the
Parthenon or a structure from the projects. In some places there are
split level homes, here we have the split personality.

And finally, this home is situated in FF Iowa but it appears someone has
taken a simple, pre-existing original FF bungalow and put some sort of
carbuncle on the front of it. Now the asking price can change from $125K
to $400K. That is ingenuity. All they're lacking is the balloons and the
automaton for a greeter at the top of the stairs.

Most any environment is harmed by farms. When you start planting a single crop
over acres and acres of land you eliminate all biodiversity on that land. Add
the usual spraying of chemicals to control weeds and insect pests, not to
mention soil disturbance and erosion caused by plowing, you have essentially
created an unfriendly environment for any other living creature.

It is just that the diagrams of the planned cities look so sterile and
downright robotic and inhuman in their scale and conformity. I am sure some of
the individual dwellings are totally fine, especially the single structures
that I saw in the English version where they were made out of brick and did not
try and resemble some sort of Colonial past days of British empire glory
architecture that I saw on the MUM campus in some photos. Those are pretentious
and aberrational to my aesthetic sense. Kinda like what you'd see at Disneyland
where nothing is real.

I googled some real estate for sale in FF and saw some of the little and fairly
quaint looking Vastu homes for sale there. Those looked fine but they were also
reayyy expensive compared to the beautiful old wooden early 1900's classic
FF homes that were offered for about $300,000 less and were three times the
size with beautiful mature gardens and lots of hardwood flooring and typical
1920's woodworking inside. But since Victoria has no Vastu homes I will have to
wait until my visit to FF before I will have an opportunity to see one in the
flesh. Nevertheless, the large cityscapes I saw in the video still gave me the
creeps.

For the record, being truly in tune with all The Laws of Nature requires that
one be facing north while sitting on the toilet. I don't know how the rules
work with guys facing south, standing to take a pee, but it would be easy
enough with modern technology to detect and recognize what activity will be
occurring in the porta-potty and rotate it to face the appropriate auspicious
direction.

Looks like fun. One can only hope, however, that
the Vedic Police Force was vigilant to make sure
that none of those tents or porta-potties faced
in an inauspicious direction.

If any did, here's an idea for next year's event.
Create a booth that contains S-V approved "wealth-
producing privies," for those who want to be On
The Program, All The Time.

Anyone suggesting that such a booth be called
"Vedic Shitty" will be severely reprimanded by
the FFL Moderators. :-)

Just in case anyone feels I'm too over the top
with this one, there really IS an operation called
Maharishi Vedic City Porta Potty Rental:

city.html

Rumors that this is a design prototype for their
newest model are so far unsubstantiated:

I'm not sure this article is really fair to the *medicinal* pot grower. From
what I gather,it seems to lump both legal and illegal growers together. The
legal growers tend to grow on their own private property, while those out t make
a quick buck, tend to use state and federal lands( no fear of confiscation of
property) to do their dirty work which involves daming creeks and
streams, siphoning water from rivers, toxic chemical spill not cleaned up, booby
traps etc.< Mexican drug lords have moved some of their operations north to
these parks to avoid boarder crossings. It looks like it might be easier and
cheaper to send a few illegals into these operations to camp out and do the
work, while their families are at the point of a gun. I'm sure there are
probably plenty of locals who do the federal and state parks routine as well.

John, just when I was all for the legalization of marijuana! Why does there
have to be two sides to every story?! But thank you for posting. And for your
grilled tuna recipe. I have to admit I love plain old tuna fish with Hellman's
real mayonnaise and diced celery. Yummy, and does wonders for the mercury
levels in my body!

They're harming California's wildlife. That's the cost that nobody's counting
in the growing pot trade.

Hi John, thanks for the clip. I agree but I'd say it a little differently: that
it takes very developed people to find solutions to problems without causing a
whole different set of problems. Think Western medicine and its awful side
effects. Marijuana I understand can ease people's pain. But now we find out
that the environment is harmed by the farms. I say let's keep looking for
solutions to both problems.

As to lemons, I grate a little on my lunch every day (-:

Share,

It takes humans with high developed consciousness to create heaven here on
earth. As shown in the article, pot harms are not good for the environment and
wildlife.

Also, I just found this video clip about vastu architecture and city planning.
It's good know that the TMO is actively distributing the knowledge around the
world.

Lastly, you should try sprinkling lemon juice on the tuna and perhaps your
salad. You might be able to taste the bliss that comes from the lemon tree. :)

you don't know what you are talking about. marshy was a lying ass who made up
that bullshit about orientation of the home being negative for life - what I
mean is that non-maharishi vastu ved practitioners ALL say that it depends on
the land, the occupants of the dwelling and other factors and in many cases the
south or north facing entrances can be positive for the people living in them.

That is if you believe in vastu veda which I don't. But the non-TM vastu ved
people disagree with the old con artist.

He did what he did to distinguish HIS brand of vastu ved as being superior to
all others and superior to feng shui. And in classic marshy style, he tried to
instill fear into the the hearts of his gullible followers. Some guru, using
fear mongering to keep the money flowing. As Edg says, Bah!

Ann,

Nice homes. I hope they're facing east or north. Otherwise, the homes may not
be helpful for one's life.

We would all be better off if the world banned TM, vastu veda and TMSP along
with the pot farms - good analogy of the vastu ved homes being like the
Prisoner, Ann - excellent and accurate analogy.

Ann,

You don't have to live in any of these houses if you don't want to. However,
the idea is worth a try. If proper city planning can reduce crime and make the
citizens successful, then I'm for it.

You should visit Vedic City and tour inside one of these vastu houses. You
might like it. I myself have not been in one, although I've seen many pictures
of them on the internet.

I have not watched a TM or TM related tape for over 30 years (except for that
hideously insipid Vedic honey thing). This appears to be fairly recent. They
are still using the same old props - the tried and true ficus tree, the
teleprompter-reading talking head. My God, let's get some production values
going here. Maybe it got a lot better after the first 25 seconds but that is
all I could stand. Jeeezuz.
