Yes, we DO need something like the FIV article at best friends. Something well
written, and with some facts and studies to back the info up. Sad thing is, no

put the cat on her back on a hard metal table, and they tie them spread eagle by
all four paws and pull them very taunt on the table. That can't be good on a cat
with a bad back. That's my issue.

Were your cats ever tested for FELV before this other cat came into your home?

you said they all had the FELV vaccine two years ago, but did your vet do the
test,
or just give the vaccine without testing them? To your own benefit, every 3
years IS
now the recommended schedule for most
I thought you couldn't give lactated ringer's sub-q because it would cause the
skin
to slough off. The vet I used to work for told me this... to be very careful to
not
get the lactated ringer's mixed up with the saline, because if you give lactated
ringers under the skin, it does serious damage
about it now but call it a learning
experience, and go on with life as best you can. Cats should be tested before
vaccination, if you choose to vaccinate against FELV. Not your fault, but
possibly
something your vet missed the boat on. Did your vet test for FIV as well?

to carefully consider giving him the vaccines, and definitely do not give him
the
FELV vaccine. Some FELV+ cats do not recover as well from neutering as
healthy cats
do, so be prepared for that in case he's one of the weak ones. The fact that

There are some Vegans out there that don't seem to have health problems feeding
their
cats vegan diets, but I'm not too sure it's really a GOOD thing to do to a cat,
being, like you said, carnivores themselves. I definitely would not want to
press my
luck with turning a FELV+ cat vegan, it's
me sleep, and would meow nonstop if I
took it
away from him at any time.

Feline Leukemia is not a cancer, it's a virus, much like HIV in humans. Some
cats
with FELV do develop cancer, but it's NOT Leukemia like you think of when you
hear
the word.
Test results are never 100%, but it's generally accepted that any maternal
antibodies
