I am trying to build RELENG_6_2 from a freshly cvsupped ports tree.
It stops in the build of libmagic with a message from the temporary (build)
ld 'cannot find -lc'?
What does this mean? How can I fix it?

I'm running FreeBSD 6.2 RELEASE on a Dell PowerEdge SC440 with a SAS 5/iR
Raid controller.
Is there any monitoring utility available for these adapters?

Hi all,

I do
that it does not run in vi compatibility mode.
I did this and now my backspace and delete work like I want them to. :)
I appreciate the replies.
For vim, my favorite is this:
cp /usr/local/share/vim/vim70/vimrc_example.vim ~/.vimrc

Anyone using this server with FreeBSD 6.2 -release ? Any issues? Some

I believe it should be possible. And if nothing like that exists, it
should be made. I could look into it, but I would have to learn a
lot more about the inner workings of the file system first.

afaik, zfs rollback

So you probarly want to order it with extra gigabit nic.
Worked for me.

I've just made a slight change to the port so that it adds a
bsdstats.sh script to /usr/local/etc/rc.d that can be enabled
in /etc/rc.conf so that it runs on system reboot

It adds half a minute or so to startup-time.
So I changed the line:
run_rc_command $1
to:
run_rc_command $1
To force it to background.
Is this correct action in rc-scripts?

if there is a preferred way, but I use a cron entry:
@reboot /usr/local/sbin/ataidle -s 1 0
If I understand you correctly, you could have one for each drive.

If you don't know enough to comment out the FORBIDDEN line in the Makefile,
perhaps you shouldn't have this port.

Well, I'm a Fluxbox user, but I'd vote for MPD (http://musicpd.org/)
and Sonata (http://sonata.berlios.de/) as a pretty GTK+ client. Both
are in ports.
