Hi,
This is the first time I've looked at gif tunnels and I'm only trying to

I've got a couple of FreeBSD 5.0-RELEASE boxen on the network, and I

FreeBSD 4.6. I have a server running that logs to syslog for recording
interesting information. It uses LOG_DAEMON facility so give the
standard syslog.conf entries of:
*.err;kern.debug;auth.notice;mail.crit /dev/console
*.notice;kern.debug;lpr.info;mail.crit;news.err /var/log/message
*.err;kern.debug;auth.notice;mail.crit /dev/console
That would be this
*.err;kern.none;auth.none;mail.none /dev/console

to the uname -r command that would reflect "p3". Instead the results were
unchanged.

I applied the patch to the current GENERIC kernel, customized the kernel
slightly, then recompiled it.
