After I let it rest for a while, it chimed. I inserted a OS 9.1
generic install that I found, and it booted to the desktop. But it's
not showing the HDD, so I guess either the ATA connection or the HDD
itself is toast. I'll check with a different drive tomorrow and will

was right (formatting, the CDs), yet I couldn't install the software.
I finally gave up, cloned my Pismo HDD to it using CCC (both the
10.4.11 and the 9.2.2 partitions), and it worked.

installed. The other drive is already erased, and I got rid of the
incompatible RAM, so I guess I'll never know what happened. Too bad,

If you don't want to bother with a hack, just stick in it a HDD with
Leopard already installed. It'll work perfect.
As for graphic cards, I'd go with a flashed Nvidia Geforce 6200, the
fanless, 256MB version. They are inexpensive and work great.
