I bought one of these nifty USB wireless adapters http://tinyurl.com/
66egqs for my wife's G4 MDD 1.4 GB running 10.4.11, and it works
great. I just plugged the dongle into a USB port, installed the
software from the included CD, and her Mac now has access to the
Internet from the antenna on our

clicking on that link brings up the same message that it's an invalid
address, while if I use Firefox, it opens the eBay page just fine.
So, what could be the problem between Mail and Safari with regard to e-

seems to be normal in Leopard, except for Mail. When I open Mail,

Years ago, when I was a teenager, I worked in a gas station, and to
show you how long ago this was, we actually put the gas in the
customers' cars for them! They never even had to get out of the car!
And while the car was being gassed up, we also checked the engine oil,
the tire pressure,
And that's all just from second-hand smoke. Imagine the insides of the
lungs that got that smoke full strength. You can't use degreaser on
them.
I don't know how many friends and relatives I've lost to lung cancer.
Smokers are just plain nuts.
I second making disk images of the CDs, with Disk Utility. The Mac
thinks the disk images are the actual disks, except they're always
available on the hard drive. You can put the original disks away for
safekeeping. Look up how to make a disk image of a CD if you don't
know how to do it.

When I moved up from a G4, which had an ADC connector, to the G5,
which did not, I figured $100 for the adapter to keep using this big
Cinema Display with the G5 was a lot cheaper than buying a whole new
monitor just for the G5.

converting .flv to .mov, I vote for the Perian plug-in for QuickTime,

QT that Final Cut works with, or only the version that was current
when that version of Studio was released, I don't know. I had already
paid my $25 when I bought Final Cut, so nothing changed.

tools. The QT libraries are available for any programmer to use all

Years ago when I needed help with a Mac, I called Apple and they
actually sent a technician out to my house to replace a CD drive. But
an AP article on the Web today makes it sound like things have changed
a lot. Seems, to hear them tell it, you can hardly get any help from
Apple now.
