Re: [hlds] Server crashing....
Is it the mdmp files or the results from the files? You could at least try to figure out yourself about how to read those files. Read the earlier answers, theres instructions for how to read them. Sometimes you cant expect other people to do the things for you, you will have to do it by yourself. People may not have time for it (maybe real lige stuff, or running their own GSP like i do). You are saying that its only containing bots.. Do you have DEP turned off? Re: [hlds] Server crashing....
Hello, i have an own GSP so i notice many crashes per day! It occures faster when you use bots! And now, i dont like to turn any option off becouse its an GameServer Function... Its the same when you say: The AWP crashes the server, so turn it off.. But its part of the game, so i like to play the game with all the funktions... So when DEP forces the crash, than valve has to fix it! I dont do it my self becouse its part of the game! You know what i mean? I followed the link that Tony Paloma provided above: If you don't have Visual Studio, you can try minidumpview: http://www.debuginfo.com/tools/minidumpview.html; Doesn't seem to be any way to introduce any specific symbol files into the mix there. We are running the latest version of SM on all our servers, Windows and Linux. Re: [hlds] Server crashing after update (Beetle's MOD???)
Well we worked with Beetlefart on the Windowz version and since applying .89 we've had no crashes or other weird behavior on our live game server. I have also put it on my vanilla test server without any changes and it's been running since applied. I looked at those threads in the BM forums and to me it looked like there may be some config changes needed, (bm_UseForcedRespawnforFastRespawn 0 in the default.cfg was one), but then all is good. We haven't really tested out all functions yet (will be done as we use it). Of course your milage may vary, hehe. Re: [hlds] Server crashing after update (Beetle's MOD???)
Well I did load it up. The only possible issue I see is this, its not connecting to the sql datatbase. This isnt unusual for a restart on the server and a map change usualy will reconnect it. however weve been through 2 map changes and still no connection On Sat, May 23, 2009 at 12:32 PM, Steve Kovack Sr. ofcba...@hotmail.comwrote: Well we worked with Beetlefart on the Windowz version and since applying .89 we've had no crashes or other weird behavior on our live game server. I have also put it on my vanilla test server without any changes and it's been running since applied. I looked at those threads in the BM forums and to me it looked like there may be some config changes needed, (bm_UseForcedRespawnforFastRespawn 0 in the default.cfg was one), but then all is good. [hlds] Server Crashing After Update
I'm using Windows 2008, and previously had absolutally no issues with this server. I am running the SourceMod 1.1.0 and am unsure what is causing this error. We have an identical server that has been solid as a rock. The server with the issue will stay up for 30 minutes .. 1hr and then just die. The error I'm getting is in a dialog box as follows: Bad entity in IndexOfEdict() index -642056 pEdict 0F5B0F70 sv.edicts 101F0010 If anyone has any ideas.. It would be great to hear them. Also, our 2fort server is crashing also, but I think it's a different error. The 2forr server will only stay up for 3 minutes before crashing. ok, that makes sense on the 2fort server. I disabled the plugin in the server.cfg but apparently that is still the issue with the 2fort server. Re: [hlds] Server Crashing After Update
I've been advised that SourceMod 1.2.1 is where you want to be at a minimum. It took care of a few problems I was having when I updated, though I was on a 1.3 build. 1.2.1 is the stable version in development, so that may be the safer way for you to go. -Richard Eid On Fri, May 22, 2009 at 2:58 AM, CLAN RCR clan...@gmail.com wrote: ok, that makes sense on the 2fort server. Re: [hlds] Server Crashing After Update
Hi Ronny, If only things were that easy! Most of SourceMod does interact through the stable interfaces provided by the engine. In fact, I can't recall any instance where this broke from an update. However we also expose some hacky innards which can break. It's not anyone's fault, it's just the nature of the work. I think users appreciate that we make this (very valuable) functionality available and work to get update-parity fairly quickly. Also remember that plugins can do whatever they want, and depending on what they do, they are just as susceptible to update breakage. Rather get cranky about this, we just accept this aspect of software development and work to improve the plugin community. Re: [hlds] Server crashing on certain custom TF2 maps?
Not sure how they might do that, you have to go to viewing something once you die and if everyone is dead that is an issue with no view points. I think the simple fix to get map makers to always have one view point, even if it looks into a black hole. If you don't mind me asking, what were the names two offending custom maps? I'd like to have a look at their entity set-up. [hlds] Server crashing...something goes wrong on restart.
-- [ Picked text/plain from multipart/alternative ] Hey guys, I'm having a problem with my Team Fortress 2 dedicated server. Occasionally, the server will hard crash (as all servers do) but when it hard crashes, when I try to reboot it (without updating with -verify_all first) VAC protection is disabled (enabled but disconnected from Steam3) and icons do not show up for people not in my friends list. I have to stop the server, run the updater with -verify_all, and restart the server for VAC and icons to return properly. Does anyone know why the server might be doing such on a hard crash? Is there a way I can prevent this from happening? It is quite irritating having to update the server every time it hard crashes (and as of recent it seems it's been doing so more often, so even more a reason for me to figure this out.) This has been happening every time the server has hard crashed since the TF2 beta release. Is there any known method of fixing it or debugging it? FireDaemon even with the windows controls in the latest versions still hangs if you use CONSOLE of your 2003 server. Re: [hlds] Server crashing?
[xXx]infexXxious clan, I hope you're not limiting the diagnosis to just Sprout... I suspect that the problem I am having is processor based... But I cannot confirm it without putting a more powerful machine in place (which I am not currently willing to do). I have turned off all mods and have even re-installed SRCDS and all content for HL2 and CSS. If I have bots, I crash with a C++ error. My crashes include STOCK maps (acutally I can't get out of the first map without a system crash). I have seen the system go as long as 5 minutes with an FPS Booster running and High Priority Rate, 7 Minutes with FPS Booster and Normal Priority and 10 minutes without the FPS Booster and Normal Priority. Something drastically changed in the way that things are handled with either AI or with tracking individuals on the server -- I cannot say that I have had enough people on there since I removed the Bots to know if it can/will/would crash with the same number of actual players on the system... But belvie that the Bots are putting greater strain than clients because of the AI. its hard saying.. but i know sometimes custom maps have od effects on servers, and quite randomly. the glass maps and stuff like that are known the most for that. the computer running it just might not be able to handle it. cuz glass maps usually use a lot of system resources, due to everything breaking, and falling, and people dieing fast, and the rapid round restarts, and sometimes you restart a round and it still looks like theres glass breaking. do you get that referenced memory at blah blah blah error where you have to click ok? or what - Original Message - From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] To: hlds@list.valvesoftware.com Sent: Tuesday, October 11, 2005 11:53 AM Subject: [hlds] Server crashing? Hey I just did a new srcds install. Its weird it will start fine unless I run the breakfloor maps that are out there. Any idea on why this would be? I used the same maps that Were on another breakfloor server. I have also downloaded them from their site no such luck. Any ideas? I don't have a admin mod or anything installed yet just clean install with the maps in the map folder. its kinda screwy. Remove the high priority and see if it fixes it.
