Go to your library with a flash drive. Most libraries have internet access, so you can "research" the web site and download the content to the flash/thumb drive. If your library doesn't have it, check with a friend who has high speed access. You can find 2GB thumb drives for around $5 if you look

Buy someone's project; if you pay attention, you will save build time, get something well built, and get a full set of plans for less than you would spend for the materials. I have a KR2S and KR2 project (not for sale) and each came with a full set of plans, builders logs, etc. We all start

If you read the article it also says that the FAA/NTSB is withholding the video. It apparently shows the view over the pilot's right shoulder as he spun in to his death... I don't think anyone really wants to see that. -Original Message- From: KRnet [mailto:krnet-bounces at

Anybody know anything about this KR? It looks like it has been around the patch - several owners in Valdosta GA for example. Thanks, Mark W N952MW (res) N50482 http://aviationdb.net/aviationdb/AircraftDetailPage N Number: 50482 Last Action Date

KR> Landing gear question

2016-05-08 Thread Mark Wegmet
I recently bought a couple of gear legs that are fiberglass and for a Grumman which have indicated that they will support a 2200 to 2400 pound aircraft. Obviously a KR as about 2/3's to 1/2's that. Should I make them narrower or thinner (i.e., split them to reduce the thickness by about 50%)

Keep in mind that Stainless Steel is not rust PROOF, but rust and corrosion resistant. Pat is absolutely correct - if you introduce iron (standard steel fines) to the surface of stainless, that will seed the surface with iron and you will get rust and/or corrosion. 300 series steels are

KR> Ethanol

2016-06-06 Thread Mark Wegmet
One of the things to note about the ethanol/water issue. Water and ethanol are fully miscible; i.e., the blend is total and permanent under normal conditions. You can determine the "mix" by monitoring specific gravity and applying the appropriate formula to determine the "percentage" of water.

Interesting. Keep in mind that the FAA drone registration process currently in place registers DRONE OWNERS. E.g., I am registered and I am required to apply my registration number to "any aircraft (SIC)" that I fly. Mine happen to be small R/C helicopters, but I only have one registration number

A little off topic, but a common phrase when I was in the Corps during the early '70's (said tongue in cheek) was "he who fights and runs away, lives to fight another day". No one believes they are going to die, ever. When it happens, they no longer know. Getting into an airplane, motorcycle, or

If it is a true eutectic, you can put it in an oven set at 425F - 63/37 SnPb melts at 361F. If you have a ladle and are VERY careful with appropriate PPE, you can transfer it to your new pot. If your old pot has a "drain" set up, again, with proper PPE, you can 'dump' it into the new pot.
