If I can remember, every time I reinstall MikTeX I have to go to Settings-
Language and select italian hyphenation in order to have correct italian
hyphenation. Did you try?

Anyway, I need to import data tables from MS Access queries to plain LyX
tables.
This data should be imported with the special copy & paste tool, but I need to
flip between the x and y axis, i.e. lines should become rows, and rows

I noticed a strange behaviour:
sometimes compound words or slash separated words
like "example/example" or "example-example"
confuse LaTeX (or LyX) and they could
be printed outside of margins.
You can put some "example-example-example"
inside a random text in a new LyX
document and
ookmark before closing a doc.
It doesn't annoy me, as I can live without bookmarks, but I think it's quite a
buggy behaviour

However, you're right, a auto-correction tool should be implemented,

I don't know if it will uninstall 1.6.1 automagically
Perhaps you want to uninstall it before. I think it doesn't delete yuour
settings, but you may want to have a backup of the settings folder.

The issue is about the DVI and PDF output differ. In fact, I also get the wrong
upper caps after a dot in a PDF, while it is OK in DVI. For the wrong small

I find very annoying the fact that when citing with the verbose-trad styles of
BibLaTeX and it switches to latinitates like "Id." and "Ibid.", LaTeX can't get
it to have the correct upper/lower case (I bet this is NOT a BibLaTeX issue,

I just re-installed LyX and MikTeX on WinXP and once again forgot to install
italian and other languages hyphenation support in MikTeX. This made me think
that as it is something I always have to do after installing MikTeX, LyX
installer should someway warn the new user to check for every

that Word can't do any more all the huge REQUESTED job. This is the place where
LyX rule. And you, proprietary software programmers stay away, cause the lot of
the work is already done, and it's "open".

I'm using LyX 1.6.1 in Windows XP and latest Lilypond version.
I had no troubles with including Lilypond files as external material till some
weeks, but I can't assure the problem started when I upgraded from 1.6.0
Anyway, this is the problem:
When I compile, after including a external lilypond fi
mpiling.
It's just a matter of keep .ly code in external files.

files or not. Some people told me a thesis is HUGE and I should split the file
into chapters or parts, but I'm afraid that something goes wrong at any time

battlefront for LyX (and for a lot of free software and projects), and the
final battle will be fought there, but this is future, and it's out of this
