This can be done directly in MI using the Table|Raster| registration route.
If you have several images to import, you may find that the utility named
REG_RAST (freeware, on our site, see below) could be of help.

If mapper, browser and MapBasic windows exist in any combination, Maximizing
one of them maximizes all of them.
Is there a way avoid those unwanted window size changes?

Open your image as a "Raster Image" from the open table menu...
then when it asksregister the image.
Then you just plot your coordinates.
