. To make things worse the very birdy
brushy hillside just to the east of the wetland has been totally denuded - all
the vegetation has been removed right up to the fence. Nothing but dirt now.

I spotted it. I soon lost sight of it and searched unsuccessfully for about 20

Black Dog, west lake on ice
A sleeping immature white-winged gull caught my eye among resting large gulls
viewed from the observation platform along Black Dog Rd. It was partially
obscurred by

The kittiwake was again present all day today near the outlet of the west lake
at Black Dog and seen and photographed by several observers. It alternately
feeds for a few minutes at the outlet and then roosts

White-winged Scoter being thrashed about in the middle of Lake Byllesby. I saw

The Ross's Goose I reported earlier today was actually at 135th St. W. and
Akron, not 36th. This is NE of Rosemount. Thanks, Mark Ochs, you sharp-eyed

The bird was still present at 3:30pm today in Hastings. It prefers to roost on
asphalt, which is unfortunate because it is exactly the same color as the
asphalt. It waits until cars are almost on top of it

Took Laura to see the Sabine's Gull tonight (26th). We arrived at 6:00pm and
