Apparently my supervisors are still buying my creative
interpretation of the Hatch Act- they let me take off for the
convention. They did moan and groan a bit, and actually thought I'd
only need an hour off...

Sorry Tim, but you are wrong. There was starting to be an exodus by Sharon
supporters and phone calls had delegates who supported RT just coming in and
more returning, who had left early . Many Sharon supporters had committed
to stay until that time and were just getting ready to leave. We knew

Here is a new twist in the rental
business. I have tried to keep my rents fairly low for my good tenants for
obvious reasons. They tend to maintain their houses better and I do not
have any turnovers. There tends to be more physical damage to a house

Anyone who is truly troubled by being undertaxed should send the government

I'm with VH on this one. Here's a real world example:
The house at 4200 dupont avenue south sold for $1,125,000 in October 2001.
The assessed value for 2002 was $706,500. The assessed valuation is 62.8

The recent discussion of taxes and casinos, regressivity and fairness
have led me to write again about this issue with regards to Minneapolis.
As Victoria Heller knows we are severely under taxed here in Minnesota.
Our tax rate should be much higher and should be much more progressive.

It can exist implicitly also; perhaps that is an even

In my opinion, the letter (below) from the Belfreys seems to
combine some legitimate citizens concerns with what has become a

This post points up a major problem with the rental business. Landlords see
themselves at war with their own clients - their renters. If any business
were this miserable for its owner(s), they would abandon it for something
else.
But it's not. It's a huge, wealth-making business, often at the expe

This sounds like a possible renter (Jim Mork) has no clue what happens in

after tenants damage their houses. All it takes is one major tenant damage
