As part of a recent eBay purchase I received a nice SMC-M50/1.7. It's in

Anyone got anything like this (possibly from a junk lens)? I suspect one

I'd like to check the weather forecast for the Grandfather Mountain Nature
Photography weekend but I'm wondering what city I should be looking up.

Make sure the shutter works and that the film wind feels smooth. Check that
the meter and autoexposure respond to light changes. You might also check
the condition of the mirror cushion foam.
Download yourself an owner's manual and service manual if you like at
Black ME Supers weren't particularly rare when they were made but ones in
good condition are kind of rare now because the black finish wasn't very
durable.
That would be a good price if the camera is in good shape. If it's got any
significant paint wear on the trim or any brassing on the top or
ehm, probably a few kilometers at most. If I make it I'll be at Kala Patar
near Everest Base camp!!!
ie. I'll be in the Himalaya's, hehehe.
