partitioning. The Red Hat Linux manual says you can have a simple setup using
just one partition but suggests the following...
- swap partition
- root partition
- /usr partition
- /home partition
The advantage of this setup
what do I have to change to make my screen go blank quicker. The linux box
blanks out the screen after so many minutes of inactivity... About 5 right
now. I want it to do it after one minute.

Dunno about the FAT32 part, but generic mount requires that
1) the /D directory exists (well, DOES it?!)
and
2) that you tell mount
OK... I just installed RH5.1 on my box. But I cannot use the RPM Manager
in Xfree. I start up the manager and select 'Available'. It starts to
scan the CD it gets to about 90% and stops scanning. I don't understand!
I have tried this on 3 different CDs. I even coppied a RPM from the CD

kernel error messages whenever I do a backup. As far as I can tell (by

Ctrl-Alt-Fn or Ctrl-Alt-Backspace to return to the console.
Does anyone know of a way to make the above useless, besides putting
``DontZap'' in the XF86Config file or exec'ing startx from the console?
