In many ways a lot of good things have come out from this sad event.
It forced us to look at other options such as MODO and Houdini.
We were very impressed with demo people at Side Effects gave us on Houdini

There is just nothing to wait from those type of people.
They are building their beautiful word no matter if it ruins yours.
They make sentences,

Hi,
We are a little perplexed why we are getting this dithering in the dark
areas using final gathering on some machines and not other
on a small rendering farm. We are using XSI 7.01, Mental Ray and Royal
Render. I have
working linear and rendering to 8bit.
We fixed it by rendering to 16bit tiff.

We are interested in Redshift too, just wondering what is the
performance different between having 2 titan in one machine vs 2
machines with 1 titan each?

Thanks for all your inputs.
Just check the Canadian prices
The Titans are between $1,000 to $1,400
The 780 are $700 to $850
The 770 are $350 to $450

I haven't been to Siggraph since 1990 in Dallas, is this the first time

Worth a trip to the West Coast since I have some relatives there.

It is not a matter be afraid, it a matter of this creating a lot of
headaches now and down the road. If one have invested 20 years of time
and money on the software, one can't just
learn another software and be productive in a short period of time. We

The decision makers at AD need to put themselves in the shoes of the XSI
users, users that have been using Softimage /XSI from day 1.
How would they feel and how would they respond?

Hi Maurice,
Since you brought this up, I thought I would throw in my 2 cents worth
and below is a quote from a friend of my who has been in the 3D industry
for over 25 years.
The reason I am upset about the killing of XSI is XSI was created from
the ground up and not pasted together like Maya
I see there are a lot of discussion of Modo, Houdini and even Blender as
an option excluding AD products, but not much has been talk about Cinema4D.
It is definitely cheaper. Anyone else looking at it as an option?
Thanks,
Leoung

Beside upgrading just that license, can I expand that license to an

do I have rent options after the end of March timeline?
Thanks,
