Florida we would say "that's great that you want that, but no."

Our current opinion in the office is that because if these openings (six of
them), the ACT no longer meets the definition of a ceiling in NFPA 13. Thus the
deck now becomes a ceiling and the ACT becomes an obstruction.

I like the premise, but the reference from the appendix only mentions Response

El-o-matic el300 series heads ( fm approvals are explosion proof style; CSA

I understand the inspection is not required, but the sprinkler doesn't know
it's in a house and not a highrise. If asked I would reccomend they get tested
as they would in an NFPA 13 occupancy.

This project specifically references our Building Code and not Residential Code.
The garage is a shared garage and is spelled out as a P-2 classification.
