AIM file transfers not working

I got a new computer recently and ever since I installed Pidgin on here I'm not getting requests for file transfers on AIM. It's not that the transfers are failing--the dialogue asking me to accept never shows up. What should I do? Thanks

I am sure that its not using the proxy because I can put in a totally bogus proxy address (i.e thiswontwork.nothere.com ) and as long as “Use client login” is checked it connects and I can send IM messages. I also verified in the debug logs that the proxy isn’t

One reason this error can be displayed is if an account has any sort of parental controls configured. And in this case I think you wouldn't be able to sign in with AIM Express, either. It's possible there are other causes for this error message. It's also possible it'
