Audible's "The Great Courses" series and Window-Eyes.

2016-10-12 Thread Vaughan Dodd via Talk
Greetings everyone.

I've loaded several of the "Great Courses" into my Audible wish list, and
notice that titles have extra material which I guess is a form of study guide
to supplement the lectures.

What form does this extra material take, and is it readable with Window-Eyes?

Some of the courses do look genuinely interesting, but I'm not prepared to
purchase if the package for each course is not truly accessible. I do notice
that there is a return book option, but user feedback from those who have gone
down this path might ensure that I don't make the mistake of buying something,
only to be disappointed.

Vaughan.

Hi Peter,

I am curious, how often do you need to shut down and re-start Window
Eyes?

Since Windows 10 updated, I now find I need to shut down and restart
Window Eyes at least once before I start Becky, my Email program. I
need to do this because WE hwill not read the Body of any Email, unless
I do this.

I only need to shut down and restart once.

I too am hoping for a fix, if it is something within Window Eyes that is
failing.

Hi Listers,

Since my computer was updated to the latest KB this morning, I am
getting what seems to be an activex related JavaScript spoken each time
I start up my computer. I really find this both annoying, but most of
all, at this point, somewhat worrisome.

It also may be related to updating my Adobe player. Whatever it is, I
wish I could find a way to stop it.

Also when it runs, I hear something about a shell, and in deed, my
Powershell did actually open up once, and I had to close it.

If there is a way that I could capture the script as it runs, so that I
can give any of you techies a go at figuring out precisely what it is,
please let me know.

I've been struggling with this one all day, so I am kind of tired, so I
will say no more.

Any help would be greatly appreciated,

Larry

I have also noticed that tring to review some Win 10 screens with the
invisible cursor works poorly. Poorly in that sometimes it make work
and most of the time it won't do anything but give you that all helpful

I copy files to a thumb drive differently. I select the files I want to
move to the thumb drive, then copy them to the clipboard, then insert
the thumb drive and open it through this PC and paste them.

Say I open the Downloads folder. I then Arrow to the file to be moved.
I then Press Shift F10, to bring up the Menu. I then Arrow down this

I then Press the Right Arrow to open this up. I Arrow down to the Flash
Drive, which is usually Drive F: on this system. I Press the Enter key
and the file is moved to the Flash Drive.

When the file has finished copying to the Flash Drive, I find myself
back in the Downloads folder.

I then Arrow to the next file to be copied, and Press Shift F10 and then
choose SEND TO. Just like the first time. But now my choices for the
Drives are gone from the menu .

Where did my choices go?

Very Weird behavior.

Hi, Rod,
I also was wondering if Aaron Smith was still around.

A few weeks ago i sent Aaron a message regarding a long standing bug in WE but
did not receive a reply. Going on previous emails, this is very much unlike
Aaron so was wondering if he was still around.

The bug, which has been around for a few releases,is where the reading of
columns and headers can not be permantly turned off in the WE Control Panel.

Cheers
Neville.
