[Touch-packages] [Bug 1899619] [NEW] [Denon AVR-S650H] Playback over Bluetooth is delayed for 2 seconds

2020-10-13 Thread Bogdan
Public bug reported:

Hello!

I'm not really sure if is pulseaudio of bluez issue.
Playback (from Gnome Settings sound test and Firefox), volume change,
mute/resume is delayed for 2sec or bit more. I've verified this on two Ubuntu
20.04 laptops.

To verify the AV receiver, I've paired MBP 2019 with OS X Catalina
10.15.7 and there are no audible delay.

2020-02-20 Thread Bogdan
Public bug reported:

Hello!

I've replaced CPU from i5-8600K to i5-9600K and found that compiz
consuming circa 200% CPU all the time. I've searched X.org log and from
what I see there are no hardware acceleration in my system:

# lsb_release -rd
Description:Ubuntu 16.04.6 LTS
Release:16.04

I've tried to load i195 with i915.alpha_support=1 but it didn't helps.
Display performance is very poor, sometime even mice pointer moves with lags
especially when browser-based applications like Skype or Slack are active.

# apt show xserver-xorg-video-intel-hwe-16.04
Package: xserver-xorg-video-intel-hwe-16.04
Version: 2:2.99.917+git20171229-1~16.04.1

My previous CPU had UHD630 as well so I guess that intel driver just
need some hint to understand that it is still the same hardware with
minor changes in naming or so.

Thank you.

Upgrading Ubuntu 18.04 disables GPU hardware acceleration

Status in xorg package in Ubuntu:

Bug description:

Ubuntu 18.04 disables my GPU hardware acceleration.

  glxinfo_before_upgrade
  OpenGL vendor string: X.Org
  OpenGL renderer string: Radeon RX 560 Series (POLARIS11 / DRM 3.23.0 /

OpenGL core profile version string: 4.5 (Core Profile) Mesa 17.3.3

OpenGL renderer string: llvmpipe (LLVM 5.0, 256 bits)
OpenGL core profile version string: 3.3 (Core Profile) Mesa 17.3.3

  This problem is reproducible.

  Steps to reproduce:
  1. Install Ubuntu 18.04 daily live. I've tried Kubuntu 18.04 Feb 26's daily
live(the installer in Mar 1 crashes which prevents me from installing it) and
Xubuntu 18.04 Mar 2's daily live. Ubuntu is utilizing my GPU in live cd session
and after the fresh install Ubuntu is also utilizing my GPU.
  2. Reboot into the newly installed system, do a dist-upgrade and reboot
again. Opengl renderer falls back to llvmpipe.

Bug description:

In the case I use '4-digit passcode' for 'Lock security', the new
keyboard visible on the lock screen has 5 buttons out of 18 (counting
'Cancel' and 'Emergency') which do not have any use. I marked them on
  the attached screenshot.

The same keyboard appears when I create or change the 4-digit passcode
  in System Settings.

IMO it'd be better to remove those useless buttons, and possibly
rearrange the useful ones. That could make it look better and provide
  better/bigger touch target.

[Touch-packages] [Bug 1647771] [NEW] Undefined variable in vim netrw when netrw_browse_split = 3

2016-12-06 Thread Bogdan Harjoc
Public bug reported:

To reproduce, open the netrw explorer in a new tab, and set opened files
to go to a new tab:

:let g:netrw_browse_split = 3
:Texplore

When the user selects a file from the explorer with Enter, this error
appears:

Error detected while processing function 20_NetrwBrowseChgDir:
line 135:
E121: Undefined variable: b:netrw_curdir

And this is displayed for a second:

Invalid arguments for function SetRexDir

Saw this after upgrade to Ubuntu 16.04 (vim 7.4.1689-3ubuntu1.2). The
error didn't show with vim 7.4.052-1ubuntu3.1 on Ubuntu-14.04.

** Affects: vim (Ubuntu)
 Importance: Undecided
 Status: New

After OTA-10 update it happens 2 times. I had to reboot and after that

After OTA-10 update I needed to reboot the phone too many times. I
don't like this update. It's beautifull as design and many bugs were
solved with this update, but many things are slowing down the phone
  maybe.

If you need more info I can search for logs with adb if you can give

The system should automatically detect when an app is being deactivate
and stop the camera, as a minimum.

To be symmetric, when the app gets activated again, it should also
restart it. However this might not be as simple since the camera might
have been re-configured by other apps so if we want the process to be
full automatic the state of the camera configuration should be saved
  and restored as well.

[Touch-packages] [Bug 1568002] Re: After OTA-10 [BQ 4.5] I don't get any sound or light notifications for incoming calls and SMS

2016-06-21 Thread Buzea Bogdan
The thing that changed after OTA-11 is that now is available only for
SMS. I dont get notifications for SMS always. Sometimes only a green
light after the SMS is received and that's all. No notification sound.

** Description changed:

After OTA-10 update, I received many calls but nothing shows on the
screen: no light, no sound of calling. After the person who SMS me or
call me end the call, or send the SMS I received a notification that I
have a missed call or missed SMS, that I never heard.

The problem is that this is my main phone, and one of the call was from
my boss and I was not answering him at the right moment.

After a reboot everthing was ok.

I have Ubuntu on my laptop, I can help you with logs with adb, if I
receive the right instructions in solving this bug. Also I can help you
with more informations. Please ask me...
+
+ After OTA-11 I dont get SMS sound notifications. For calls everything is
+ ok.

** Summary changed:

- After OTA-10 [BQ 4.5] I don't get any sound or light notifications for
incoming calls and SMS

[Touch-packages] [Bug 1568002] Re: After OTA-10 [BQ 4.5] I don't get any sound or light notifications for incoming calls and SMS

2016-04-22 Thread Buzea Bogdan
@pat where I have to move that files? I have to remove them, or just to move
to another place?
Another question is how to acces folders to move something through ADB?

I know only to generate a archive with certain logs...
This are the instructions I use:

Retrieve logs from the device

Connect the mobile device running Ubuntu to the host computer also running
Ubuntu via USB
On the Ubuntu host computer, open a terminal with Ctrl+Alt+T
Type the following commands, each followed by Enter

mkdir logs
cd logs
adb pull /home/phablet/.cache/upstart/
adb pull /var/crash
cd ..
tar -zcf logs.tar.gz logs
The final step will result in a file called logs.tar.gz. Please send that file
to those debugging those logs.

In this case can you tell me the commands to solve this moving
folder?...

[Touch-packages] [Bug 1483010] Re: Add a C wrapper

2015-08-10 Thread Bogdan
Well that's unfortunate :( And I agree with the last sentence, I forgot
about the virtual functions, which make it so complicated.

It should be noted that with Qt 5.5 the only requirement for QtNFC is
neard, whereas before it was only available on BlackBerry, so this is
now possible.

[Touch-packages] [Bug 1442105] Re: GPS not working on my BQ Ubuntu Touch

2015-05-22 Thread Buzea Bogdan
How I made my Ubuntu BQ GPS to work (with advices from BQ Support)

First I have gone outside and check this on the phone: System Settings
Security and Privacy Location access Using GPS, anonymized Wi-Fi and
cellular network info. And after that I reboot.

I checked again that all location setting to be enabled and in 2 minutes
the GPS worked for the first time I bought the phone.

I supose there will be more updates on software that we will not need to
reboot to make something to work properly.

Another tool that can help you with checking hardware problem on GPS is
Sensor status from Ubuntu store. Repeat the above steps and check the
GPS status on that app.

This steps helped me and in my opinion this bug is closed using those
sugestion I described.

Re: [Touch-packages] [Bug 1442105] [NEW] GPS not working on my BQ Ubuntu Touch

2015-04-15 Thread Buzea Bogdan
When getting logs i was indoor and i have sim inserted and 3G on.

But another day i was outdoor for 30 minutes, gps on, here terms accepted,
but here maps and google maps dont detect any gps signal.

I have an app SensorsStatus and today i was outdoor, gps on, but i dont get
any info about gps position.

În data de miercuri, 15 aprilie 2015, Thomas Voß 1442...@bugs.launchpad.net
a scris:
Thanks for providing the logs. According to those, gps positioning is in
progress, and please note that it can take a significant amount of time
until it acquires a fix, specifically indoors.

We rely on network-based positioning to provide an initial first fix as
fast as possible. That technology requires a data connection and a SIM
to be present in the phone. Do you have a data connection on the phone
(simple test: can you browse the web)? Do you have a SIM inserted into
 the phone?

2015-04-10 Thread Buzea Bogdan
NOw I tried to open GPS and location and then try this commands:

bogdan@bogdan-Lenovo-B580:~$ adb shell
phablet@ubuntu-phablet:~$ ubuntu-location-serviced-cli --bus system --get
--property visible_space_vehicles
Visible space vehicles:
phablet@ubuntu-phablet:~$

So I have no vehicles. I have to mention that now with this commands I
am inside, I dont have satelites visible...

2015-04-08 Thread Buzea Bogdan

Airplane mode. I disable Airplane mode. And in the next 2-3 seconds I

Please ask me any question if this could help.

Re: [Touch-packages] [Bug 1437486] sms notification baloon dont work to send smsdirectly

2015-04-02 Thread Buzea Bogdan
I changed to SIM1 and everything works fine, but I consider the problem
should be solved for the second SIM. Maybe someone like me insert the SIM
in slot 2.

On joi, 2 aprilie 2015 16:13:06 EEST, Tiago Salem Herrmann wrote:
Looks like you are using the second slot.
Could you try moving the sim card to the other slot (probably
the top slot) and check if the bug is still reproducible?
 Thank you.

[Touch-packages] [Bug 1437486] Re: sms notification baloon dont work to send sms directly

2015-03-30 Thread Buzea Bogdan
I cant repeat now this behaviour I meet in the first 2 days.

When the screen was off, I received a notification, like when you
receive something (SMS, email, soo on), but I was able to click it, and
the notification expands with one raw so I was able to type a text Ok
and click SEND. But the message never went somewhere and nobody received
it.

I can't screenshot because I cant repeat this. Now, when I receive an
SMS or another notification I dont have the option to expand the
notification to reply directly from there. Just a simple notification...

[Touch-packages] [Bug 1437486] Re: sms notification baloon dont work to send sms directly

2015-03-28 Thread Buzea Bogdan
No, the message I sent from the notification baloon dont appear on the
SMS conversation... I just enter OK and click SEND, but that's all. No
tracking of my message.

About SIM, I have only 1 SIM.

That's all I can say about this bug. Also I can say I tested this again
one hour later, and the same behaviour.

  [SRU justification]
In a container, the procps package fails to upgrade because sysctl will fail
when it can't write to certain keys. Since the procps has just been SRUed,
this means anyone running Ubuntu in a container (12.04 or later) will have
upgrade failures because of the procps upstart job failing to start.

  [Test case]
  1. Set up precise in an lxc container.
  2. Apply updates from the -updates pocket.
  3. Observe that the procps package fails to install.
  4. Enable -proposed.
  5. Install the procps package from -proposed.
  6. Observe that the package upgrades successfully.

  [Regression potential]
This patch changes the behavior of the sysctl program and causes permission
errors to be non-fatal. Anything relying on the current behavior (e.g., when
sysctl is run by a non-root user) will regress as a result of this change, but
it's not obvious why anything would rely on this since sysctl is not meant to
be invoked by non-root users.

I have a VPS that i upgraded from Ubuntu 10.10 to 11.10 and then to 12.04.2

But something is wrong and now i can't upgrade procps. I get the following
output,

[Touch-packages] [Bug 324295] Re: WOL does not work when using shutdown, but works with suspend (S3) and halt -p

2014-08-02 Thread Bogdan
Hi, seems I get the same bug in 14.04 Suspend works, but not after
shutdown.

--
You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu
Touch seeded packages, which is subscribed to sysvinit in Ubuntu.
https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/324295

Title:
WOL does not work when using shutdown, but works with suspend (S3) and
  halt -p

Status in “sysvinit” package in Ubuntu:
  Confirmed

Bug description:
  Binary package hint: upstart

I am not sure whether this is the fault of upstart, or some other
  package, but the problem is:

Wake-on-LAN works in the following situations:

  1) when suspending the system to S3 (using pm-suspend)
  2) When issuing sudo halt -p from the command line.
Note: I have not tested WOL from hibernate

If I shut down the system from XFCE or by issuing sudo shutdown -h
now I cannot wake up my system by sending a WOL packet from another
  computer.

I really want to avoid using suspend as suspend support seems a bit
unstable on my computer running as a mythbackend.

I also understand that halt -p does not run the shutdown scripts in
rc0, rc1 and rc6 which probably is not good for my system services.

But it seems like that somewhere during the shutdown scripts WOL is
  disabled.

I have tried setting NETDOWN=no in /etc/init.d/halt to prevent halt
from bringing the network interfaces down.

I enable WOL with a script in init.d, here is the script:
  #!/bin/sh
  ### BEGIN INIT INFO
  # Provides: wakeonlanconfig
  # Required-Start: $remote_fs $syslog
  # Required-Stop: $remote_fs $syslog
  # Default-Start: 2 3 4 5 S
  # Default-Stop: 1 6
  # Short-Description: Set up Wake On Lan
  ### END INIT INFO

  ETHTOOL=/usr/sbin/ethtool
  DEV=eth1
  case $1 in
  start)
echo -n Setting $DEV to wakeonlan...
  $ETHTOOL -s $DEV wol g;
  echo  done.;;
  stop)
  ;;
  esac

  exit 0

The Wakeonlan script is run at the following runlevels:
  locate wakeonlan
  /etc/init.d/wakeonlanconfig
  /etc/rc0.d/K20wakeonlanconfig
  /etc/rc1.d/K20wakeonlanconfig
  /etc/rc2.d/S20wakeonlanconfig
  /etc/rc3.d/S20wakeonlanconfig
  /etc/rc4.d/S20wakeonlanconfig
