I have a new mac computer and am trying hard enough to get used to it
after using windows for so many years.
I have tried openoffice and I have decided I do not want it on my
computer anymore. Unlike windows where you can uninstall, Mac's, all
you need to do is drag and drop to trash.
I am not tech savvy to say the least, if I produce a document with this
software, can it be sent to a computer that has Microsoft Word and opened and
edited from Word?

I got a bit cross and frustrated as I love my Mac! Sorry for my
action. The program would not instal but after a little thought I
worked out that it was the version of X11 I was using. I installed
X11 2.1.1 and all was OK.
But this pops up in a window and and I get an
