Re[3]: [SOGo] sending using different "from" email - how to setup?

2022-06-27 Thread "Martin Bowesman"

Hi Brett,

Do you have the domain property set in sogo.conf ?

SOGoMailCustomFromEnabled = YES;

If this is not set, then when you try and create an identify the text
entered will be red, and the 'OK' button will remain greyed out - I've
confirmed this behaviour in my environment. Make sure this property is
set, sogo restarted and let us know how you go.

Hi Martin,
is there some good instructions on creating identities? Because
following them so far has resulted in SoGo refusing to create them :(

Hello Bret,

this depends not only on SOGo but also on the underlying mail server.

So that a SOGo account can use different sender addresses, these addresses must
also be created at least as aliases for the respective mailbox on the mail
server.

Since this process is different for each mail server, I have to refer you to
the documentation for the mail server you are using.

[SOGo] Updating events via DAVx5 not possible, caused by UTF BOMs everywhere?

2021-10-18 Thread Martin Boonk
Hi,

I am trying to track down a problem during sync with DAVx5 4.0.0 and SOGo 5.2.0
(Arch linux server).
Downgrading to SOGo 5.1.0 did not change the behaviour.

Creation of an event works without problems. Updating the same event creates an
HTTP 412 by SOGo. DAVx5 gets the following after PUT:

ETag: "gcs"

But the multistatus received after REPORT contains the following:

"gcs"

This causes DAVx5 to double quote the ETag for the If-Match-header like so:
if-match: "\"gcs\"". Naturally this does not match and creates the 412.

I have seen these additional UTF BOMs also at the start of VCARD/VCALENDAR.

Are these created by SOGo? I can not see them in my in the database (MariaDB
utf8mb4).
What can I do, to get my sync with DAVx5 working again?

Best regards

Martin

[SOGo] 2 questions on an testsetup

2021-07-21 Thread Martin Kopp

Hi,

We are new to sogo, like it and evaluating the product. We found 2
topics which are a bit tricky to us.

1) Appointments from external sources are only displayed in the Mailbox.
They are not written (temporary) in the calendar. So while i am on
vacation i wouldn't see new appointments over activesync (calendar) or
caldav without looking in the mailbox. I have to hit the button "add to
calendar" to see it there.

Is this a topic for the wishlist to automatically add appointments to
the calendar or did i missed some documentation?

2) Tried to build an postgres HA-Cluster in Background. When switching
over is there a parameter or possibility to give sogo the information,
that a db-reconnect should be done? It hangs for some minutes.

Thanks for help

best regards

Re: [SOGo] Thunderbird with Connector 68.0.x - managing ACLs

2020-02-11 Thread Martin LEUSCH

Hi Markus,

SOGo Connector is only able to manage ACL for calendars and address book.

To manage mail folder ACL there is Imap-ACL-Extension
(https://addons.thunderbird.net/fr/thunderbird/addon/imap-acl-extension/)
but this add-on is not yet compatible with Thunderbird 68.

Le 10/02/2020 à 20:58, Markus Winkler (m...@irmawi.de) a écrit :

Hi all,

I have a general question regarding the SOGo Connector. In the
documentation I found this:

--- snip ---
Among the supported features of the SOGo Integrator extension, we have :
    Remote administration of folder access control lists (ACL)
--- snip ---

Does that mean, that within Thunderbird I should be able to share some
of my mail folders with other users?

If yes:

I have installed the new Connector and can, for example, see mail
folders shared by other users - no problem. Also: I can share my
calendars with other users, can manage specific access rights for them
etc. - no problem

But when I click on one of my own mail folders -> properties -> share:
I can see all _my_ access rights to this folder, among others:
administer the folder. But _how_ can I do this? I can't see any button
or something similar for this.

Is the SOGo Connector sufficient for this (and maybe is only missing
some local or [Dovecot] server side settings)? Or do I need an
additional TB add-on for this? I hope I didn't only overlook something
...

It would be nice if somebody could help me.

Thanks and regards,
Markus

P.S.: Sharing the mail folders within the webmail client works without
any problem.

Re: [SOGo] Issues with Apostrophe (Single Quote)

2019-11-26 Thread Anselm Martin Hoffmeister

Hi Andrew,

I just tested writing a mail from SOGo webmail (4.1.0 in this case) to a
fake version of my private account elsewhere, having inserted an
apostrophe '. My private server rightfully refuses the (invalid)
destination address - it seems SOGo does everything correctly here and
hands through the apostrophe exactly as I would expect.

Trying to replicate the problem, doing the same with both the forward
and backward tick ´` (single quotation marks or accent over blank, or
whatever you call them), the same happens, SOGo hands through those
mails and the destination server then refuses - the forward tick for
"invalid postbox", the backtick as "restricted characters in address",
and the non-delivery mail quotes the refused target address including
the superfluous characters.

So it seems (my) SOGo 4.1.0 works correctly. But there may be other
parties involved: Usually SOGo hands off the mail to a local running
exim (or postfix), which then forwards the mail as applicable. There
may be a different mail path between roundcube and SOGo, depending on
your local configuration.

Can you find some relevant lines in the mail server logs? In exim case
and on Debian(ish) Linuxes, /var/log/exim4/mainlog would be the place to
investigate.

Also having details on the software version involved and perhaps the
relevant parts of the SOGO config may be helpful.

Best regards

Re: [SOGo] Questions about SOGo

2019-11-06 Thread Anselm Martin Hoffmeister

Hi Alwin,

we have quite a similar setup here. As most colleagues here have several
"identities" (which is, they work for both companies sharing this office
space) and mail should be sent with the corresponding signature,
depending on the original incoming address, the mail program must select
the correct identity on reply.

Luckily for us, Thunderbird does exactly this. As you noticed, the
webmailer also looks into the original mail and selects an appropriate
"identity".

So this is obviously a mail user agent thing, in the first place at
least. I am aware of huge differences between Outlook versions out
there, and at least that Outlook 2016 that my PC has (and that is not
opened more than once a year, luckily) seems not to do a proper
matching. I guess you should look into the options that Outlook
(+AddOns) might offer here, rather than on the server-side.

It seems that some people achieved to have Thunderbird-like "identities"
in Outlook by creating more that one account (and disabling all but the
first one). I did not read though wether the automatic choice of sender
address came with this.

You might want to have a look at
https://www.ivasoft.com/smartreply2010.shtml (not affiliated to it, just
a google result), which seems to quite match your request (add-on comes
at 50$/workstation). So there seems to be a lack of functionality in
Outlook, and someone makes a living off this.

For emClient, I cannot tell, as I never used that one, sorry.

On the other hand you can do all kinds of smart or stupid things in
rewriting outgoing mails on the server. I would recommend against that
approach, as the reply mail does not necessarily bear the information of
the original target mail address. You would have to store this on the
"way in", with the message id, and in the outgoing mail, lookup the
"Message-Reply-ID" (or similar header field) and find the address to
insert from your database. Yes this is possible, and a rather ugly hack!
E.g. in an Exim setup, you might add a "router" there to pass your mail
into some manipulation scripts, and probably insert some bad bugs into
mail handling while doing so. BTDT.

Hello,

we are currently converting our mailsystem to SOGo. We have a few
questions. Maybe someone can answer me if this is possible.

In our e-mails, we have tried to create a specific structure:

  * There is a main mailbox with some aliases (created in SOGo)
  * The mails sent to this alias are automatically moved to a
subfolder in the same mailbox

Now it gets difficult:

  * If one of these mails is answered, the client (for example,
Outlook or em Client) should automatically select the address to
which the mail was sent
  o The aliases (as sender addresses) could also be sent
automatically by the server to the client. Then he could make
the choice easily.
  + Is there perhaps a SOGo plugin to do that?
  + Where can I even see / browse the available SOGo plugins?
  o It would be okay to create the addresses manually, but the
client would still have to select them automatically (but
unfortunately that does not work right now).
  + Maybe there is an Outlook plugin?
  o There is this functionality in the webmailer. It just works
like we want it to.

If that does not work:

  * Is there a possibility to set a manually added sender address
(alias) as default? Unfortunately, I couldn’t find anything.
  * Is it possible to manipulate the sender address on server-side
(depending on the user and only if the receiver is external)

Thanks in Advance!

Re: [SOGo] Automatically Attach File

2019-10-01 Thread Anselm Martin Hoffmeister
Dear Christopher,

this can be done with the same method that also works for some other
mail clients, e.g. Thunderbird, Maildroid...:

Create a mail signature (SOGO-Settings-IMAP accounts-Edit-Signature) and
switch to HTML source code view. Enter your signature, something like
(an anonymized version of a company signature I had in my mailbox):

    My name goes
here
    Position
    Company
Inc.

Company
registration HR 4711
VAT-ID: DE47110815

The image data has to be embedded here, behind the "base64,". Get the
base64 for example on the command-line, with
base64 < imagefile.png
and put it instead of the XXX (may be several lines - better
optimize the image you use to have proper size and dimensions).

Best regards

Re: [SOGo] HTTPS switches to HTTP after login

2019-07-10 Thread Anselm Martin Hoffmeister
Hi Paul,

please check your Apache configuration. As you want https, you might
have to set lines like
  RequestHeader set "x-webobjects-server-port" "443"
  RequestHeader set "x-webobjects-server-name" "%{HTTP_HOST}e" env=HTTP_HOST
  RequestHeader set "x-webobjects-server-url" "https://%{HTTP_HOST}e";
env=HTTP_HOST

In my configuration, those (in /etc/apache2/conf-available/SOGo.conf,
but my box is running Debian - might be a little different) were
surrounded by , so perhaps you also need to
enable that module (a2enmod headers).

Lacking those (or having them disabled, effectively), page redirects
might default to http on port 80, which you seem to experience.

Hope this helps!

Re: [SOGo] Extracting address books and calendars content

2019-06-12 Thread Anselm Martin Hoffmeister
Hallo André,

I guess that CALDAV is the way to go (via HTTPS, preferrably). There are
php snippets that demonstrate Web DAV accesses, for example, so you
could "roll your own", for both data read and write, and have full
flexibility to access single items, while keeping sogo happy with
synchronizing changed data to whichever user/program/device needs it.
For mere backups though, the SQL database dump would be the obvious choice.

I admit that for a certain purpose I was a bit lazy and used a database
dump: We need a plain csv file of phone number and associated names for
our PABX to display caller names. There is some script that I will not
disclose (as it is not pretty at all), but it is fed with the output of

echo "SELECT c_content FROM sogoanshoffm00112288562" | mysql -u
sogodbuser thesogodb | parsevcardscript

where the table name has been hand-picked, obviously, and the mysql uses
an options file (which contains the password in this case).

The data is - you may have guesses - in vcard format, which to me seems
like the shabby brother of an LDAP record - it seems to have been kind
of a standard for some time, or rather, a set of "we use it like this"
that are mostly compatible. Don't trust much on any application to
behave, and with a large range of software and devices accessing your
sogo, you will for example have several TEL;TYPE= and EMAIL;TYPE=
variants that not every program uses in the same way. YMMV.

For restoring the complete dataset, I had to do this with several SOGo
instances a while back when changing hardware, and on that occasion
doing a full software install instead of just moving the root partition.
Just shutting down sogo, exporting the database, importing on the new
server and firing up sogo there with the mostly identical config file
worked as expected.

Best regards
Anselm

Re: [SOGo] Send email notifications disabled but "calendar-auto-schedule" announced by server

Hello,

I just want to inform you that I reported an issue for this topic, see
ID 0004688 <https://sogo.nu/bugs/view.php?id=4688>.

Please add your comments there, if you are effected by this issue as
well. (Which I thought most of you are, but in view of the little
response this most likely is not the case.)

Re: [SOGo] Issue with shared calender data retrieval of with tbsync or iOS devices

2019-03-08 Thread Martin Trinks

Hi all,

we have the same problem with such error messages in TbSync.

For us it seems that all users using TbSync are affected, meaning that
they are missing address books and calendars of other users.

Does anybody now any solution to this. It seems to me that this is a bug
in SOGo, or am I missing something?

Hi all,

I have one additional comment on the issue. Even though the automatic
retrieval of calendar and contact resources does not work via the
well-known URLs, manual CALDAV configuration in Lightning via the

calendar links, provided by the web frontend, is working.
In the meantime I have completed a new SOGo server setup.
Unfortunately the problem does also happen on the new system.

Thank you for your kind help.

Hi all,

We are currently using the latest nightly SOGo release 4.0.5, and
came all the way from version 2.something. We did not face any major
issues ever since.
Unfortunately at some point one of the updates seems to have broken a
part of the calendar sharing functionality.

All users are able to share their calendars and contacts via the web
frontend. We use Thunderbird in combination with the tbsync plugin to
integrate calendar and contact resources from SOGo.
For old/existing users this is working without any problem but for
newly created accounts, retrieving the calendar list fails as soon as
the users does subscribe to shared calendars.

tbsync error message:

tbsync uses /.well-known/caldav and /.well-known/carddav to fetch the
available resources.

This is only happening for newly created accounts. For existing users
retrieval of shared calendars does work.

Does anyone have an idea what could be the cause of the issue ?

[SOGo] Issues for SOGo Connector

it seems, that there are two places to open issues for SOGo Connector at
the moment,

- https://sogo.nu/bugs/ (with Project = "SOGo Connector") and
- https://github.com/inverse-inc/sogo-connector/issues.

How are they related? Which one is the correct/better one for opening

Re: [SOGo] Configuration to show nickname of contacts in web interface

Hi,

thank Christian and Hartmut for the reply.

I would like to configure which attributes are shown in the web frontend
in the view of a single contact (after clicking on one contact in the
contact/address book list).

It seems to me, that SOGo stores this configuration in some .wox files.
Does anybody know some (specific) guideline how to modify them correctly?

I am not sure what you mean.
Do you mean, how to get own attributes from LDAP?
Then you should use "mapping" in SOGoUserSources.
https://sogo.nu/files/docs/SOGoInstallationGuide.html#_ldap_attributes_mapping

Or do you mean showing additional information on autocompletion?
Then use "SOGoLDAPContactInfoAttribute" in SOGoUserSources (restricted
to one attribute).

Or do you mean which Attributes are shown in address book lists?
Then you have to either modify the source code yourself or open a
feature request athttps://sogo.nu/bugs/

After restart of Thunderbird, hidden SOGo calendars are showed again and

[SOGo] Dedicated EAS instance with SOGo v4

2018-05-09 Thread Martin LEUSCH

Hi,

I'm testing SOGo v4 on Debian Stretch and try to set up a dedicated

The dedicated instance fail to start with error "/[ERROR]

that no other process is already using it/". It seems like it doesn't
get the configuration from
"/var/lib/sogoeas/GNUstep/Defaults/.GNUstepDefaults" and try to listen
on the same port as the main instance. The instance is started with the
sogoeas user take the custom number of worker correctly (from the init
script /etc/init.d/sogo-eas).

Is there modification in SOGo v4 that could cause this?

Re: [SOGo] Domain migration

2017-09-04 Thread Martin

For answering myself:

  * When I restore users folders and preferences to the new server
with sogo-tool, shared folders and ACL (calendar and address
books) are not restored (from SOGo v2 nightly 2.3.22.20170831-1 to

Is sogo-tool can restore shared calendars and address books? Is it
support restoring from v2 to v3? Is it support restoring from old
database schema to combined schema?

There is already a bug report
and a thread in this mailing list about this issue.

  * I have an other mail server to migrate with samba using username
as uid and the new server use full mail address as uid. Is
sogo-tool can restore user backup with an other username?

* Rename the file according the username you want (mv
   /path/to/backups/username /path/to/backups/usern...@exemple.com)
* In the backup file, rename your folders in table section (sed -i
   s#/Users/username/#/Users/usern...@exemple.com/#g
   /path/to/backups/usern...@exemple.com)
* In the preferences section, adjust folders settings according the
   new usernames (sed -i s#:Calendar#/@imrcom.fr:Calendar/#g
   /path/to/backups/usern...@exemple.com; sed -i
   s#:Contacts#/@imrcom.fr:Contacts/#g
   /path/to/backups/usern...@exemple.com)

  * I try to migrate users mailbox with doveadm (/doveadm backup -N -u
u...@exemple.com remote:newserver.exemple.com/) but shared IMAP
folders are not migrated on the new server. How can I migrate
shared IMAP folders?

This is not related to SOGo, in dovecot, ACL module was not enabled for
doveadm (only enabled for IMAP service) so I just add to add acl in
mail_plugins setting in donvecot config file.

AW: [SOGo] Newbie is looking for EASY installation instructions for SOGo on KUBUNTU

2016-11-21 Thread "Martin Rahnefeld"

Hi there,

I have basically used this setup here: http://majentis.com/?p=344 with a few
modifications for xenial, I could post the install-script, if you like.
Everything should be working then, after you setup postfix to send mail over
you existing mail account.

You can use Active Sync via simply entering you public IP/Domain, which you
mailserver is on, to your device.

E.g.
my Sogo install is on my homeserver, which has an incoming port forward (443).
The domain is some myfritz/dyndsn resolver.
I have a normal public smtp, to which I forward all my mails from sogo with
postfix.

in my device I simply put mydomain.myfritz and everything works.

Best Regards,

Martin

Hey newbie,

I am thankfull that Christian replied on this as I deleted (unplanned)
your original email... x-(

There is no "easy" manual for SOGo.. but I am going to guess that you
are making the same mistake I did.

Don't think of SOGo as a complete email solution. What SOGo does very,
very genios(TM)-ly, is to make almost any email type service a compete
collaborative/business type solution.

SOGo is the extra gear. SOGo basically provides to your already setup
email server ( be that your local mail server or outside service
provider ) and then servers the calendar/contacts Active Sync or DAV. So
no need for a out of box licensed system or propietary system.

So more of a layer to take your average mail system to professional
collaboration. :-)

So if you want to get to grips with SOGo and a mail solution quickly..
there's a awesome solution called iredmail (http://www.iredmail.org/)
that will set up a system from scratch to a complete solution. Check it out.

If this doesn't help, buzz me on my private email addie and we get it
sorted :-)

today i´ve retested a few things and now I can´t send mails via smtp because
I get the message „cannot send message: (smtp) all recipients discarded”

I´ve already rechecked mailserver and I can send mails through smtp so i´m
sure there should be no problem.

I dont know where to put in nginx, but you shoulld have a timeout in nginx for
active sync. Like:ProxyPass /Microsoft-Server-ActiveSync
\http://127.0.0.1:2/SOGo/Microsoft-Server-ActiveSync \retry=60
connectiontimeout=5 timeout=3600

Awesome,

thanks very much. I will try it in the next few days.
It would be somehow more user friendly if there would be a config option (like

Hi,

is there a possibility to remove the "info" Symbol on the logon page? At least
the detailed version of my sogo install?
If the system is reachable over the web, there is no need to give anyone a hint

Re: [SOGo] SOGo Interface with two different ports behind NAT?

Found a solution, the error was on my firewall.
It seems it is not possible to forward to different source ports to the same
destinantion port (there is not error message in my router/firewall).

Therefore I created a second interface on my sogo machine, to which I can
connect with https. Works great.

[SOGo] SOGo Interface with two different ports behind NAT?

2016-10-06 Thread martin
Is it possible to access Sogo Web-interface with two different ports? Like 443
and 4430?
I have migrated my exchange (was reachable under 443) to Sogo (4430). Now I
dont want to reconfigure all devices.
Therefore I would like to access the web-interface with Port 443 and 4430.

In my firewall (home-router) I have a port redirect from 4430 to 443 to my sogo
vm. There is another one from 443 to 443 to the same sogo vm, but this one isnt
working (maybe loop).
I think I have to modify my SOGo.conf line RequestHeader set
"x-webobjects-server-url"

RequestHeader set "x-webobjects-server-url" https://MYDOMAIN.myfritz.net:4430

If I have 4430 appended it works for Port 4430.
If I remove the port nothing works.
If I use RequestHeader set "x-webobjects-server-url" "https://%{HTTP_HOST}e";
env=HTTP_HOST I can see the logon page. But I get redirected to a blank one if
I give credentials- because its http instead of https. Somewhere a Redirect
works wrong.

But I am not familiar enough with Redirects with apache2

2016-10-04 Thread "martin"
Hi there, I have used Exchange 2007 for quite some years, but I am trying to switch to Sogo, Openchange and so on. The most of my install works fine, except for one tiny culprit. I cant use Outlook 2007 or 2010 with "old" users.I have used Outlook 2013 to create and import all mails (5 mailboxes), they are syncing fine with iOS, Windows Phone, Android, SOGO Webmail, Windows 10 Mailapp and Outlook 2013. Therefore I wanted to Switch the testserver with Exchange 2007, but: If I am trying to connect Outlook 2007 to one of these accounts I get an Samba backtrace (and Outlook closes, doesnt sync anything). If I create a new user (samba-tool user add test && openchange_newuser --create test) I can use Outlook 2007. [SOGo] Shared calendar with Openchange on Outlook

2016-10-03 Thread Martin LEUSCH

Hi,

I have a SOGo server with samba and Openchange.

I can configure accounts on Outlook (2007 or 2010) clients without
problem but I cannot access to calendars shared by users who have
configured their account on Outlook.

I ran SOGo on Debian Jessie with self compiled Samba 4.3.8, Openchange
2.4-zentyal22 and SOGo 3.1.5.

I not have this problem with old inverse's packages Samba 4.1.18,
Openchange 2.4-zentyal18 and SOGo 3.1.2.

Anyone else have this problem?

Is shared calendar is working fine on Outlook with inverse's packages on
Ubuntu Xenial?

Thanks,

Re: [SOGo] Cannot subscribe to calendar shared to a group

How can I get calendar ACL working well with samba group?

Here is part of my sogo configuration:

{
id = directory;
displayName = "myDomain";
canAuthenticate = YES;
type = ldap;
CNFieldName = cn;
IDFieldName = sAMAccountName;
UIDFieldName = sAMAccountName;
MailFieldNames = (mail, otherMailbox);
baseDN = "dc=myDomain,dc=fr";
bindDN = "cn=ldap,cn=Users,dc=myDomain,dc=fr";
bindFields = (sAMAccountName, userPrincipalName);
bindPassword = "myLdapPassword";
hostname = ldap://127.0.0.1:389;
filter = "((mail=\'*\') AND (objectClass=person))";
  },
{
id = myDomain_groups;
displayName = "Groupes d'utilisateurs";

bindDN = "cn=ldap,cn=Users,dc=myDomain,dc=fr";
bindPassword = "myLdapPassword";
hostname = ldap://127.0.0.1:389;
filter = "((mail=\'*\') AND (objectClass=group))";
  }

My groups defined in samba look like:

   dn: CN=Group1,CN=Users,DC=myDomain,DC=fr
   objectClass: group
   objectClass: securityPrincipal
   objectClass: mailRecipient
   objectClass: top
   cn: Group1

I can share calendar to a group without problem but cannot subscribe to
the shared calendar with an user in this group from the GUI.

If I add manually the calendar in the user profile in the data base I
can see the shared calendar but if I modify something from the GUI like
ACL for all authenticated users the calendar is not subscribed anymore.

Someone could help me with this issue?

Thanks.

Hi,

For your sieve problem, by default the sieve server of Dovecot accept
connection only from the localhost, you have modify Dovecot
configuration on your external server.

MAPIStore is not trusted by your external IMAP server, to access to IMAP
accounts of your users, you can add a file with your users password to
MAPIStore. (see SOGo documention here

and here
).

1. Can you explain where are OpenChange/MAPIStore object settings,
how does OpenChange transfer e-mail to Outlook, in to what IP

So basically I have changes settings in: /etc/sogo/sogo.conf

2. Is the sieve critical at this point, does it somehow participates
in mail delivery to MAPIStore? Because I still debugging Sieve

Sogo version 3.1 used.

Why there is no sogo-openchange package with sogo 3.1.3? Is SOGo still
working with OpenChange?

SOGo still works with OpenChange when hooked to Samba 4.4. Of all the
distributions Inverse currently supports (Debian, Ubuntu, RHEL), only
Ubuntu Xenial ships with Samba 4.4.

But of course nothing prevents you from compiling and installing
Samba 4.4 out-of-band on Jessie, then compiling and installing
SOGo/OpenChange yourself.

Hence, I suggest you install Jessie's samba packages.

[SOGo] Migrate to combined database schema

2016-06-17 Thread Martin LEUSCH

Hi,

I used the script sql-update-3.0.0-to-combined-mysql.sh to migrate to
the new database schema.

Since, the calendars and addresses book are unusable. I've errors like this:

   /Jun 17 16:35:42 sogod [8891]:
   [ERROR]<0x7f1f925bd890[SOGoAppointmentFolder]:4832-57455A00-1-356FEC40>
   (-[SOGoAppointmentFolder

fetchFields:from:to:title:comp//onent:additionalFilters:includeProtectedInformation:]):
   missing folder for fetch!
   /

Now I have these databases settings in sogo.conf:

   /SOGoProfileURL =
   "mysql://openchange:xxx@localhost/openchange/sogo_user_profile";//
   //OCSFolderInfoURL =
   "mysql://openchange:///xxx/@localhost/openchange/sogo_folder_info";//
   //OCSCacheURL =

"mysql://openchange:///xxx/@127.0.0.1:3306/openchange/sogo_cache_folder";//
   //OCSStoreURL =
   "mysql://openchange:///xxx/@127.0.0.1:3306/openchange/sogo_store";//
   //OCSAclURL =
   "mysql://openchange:///xxx/@127.0.0.1:3306/openchange/sogo_acl";//
   //OCSSessionsFolderURL =

"mysql://openchange:///xxx/@localhost/openchange/sogo_sessions_folder";
   /

I followed steps describe here
<https://lists.inverse.ca/sogo/arc/users/2016-05/msg00276.html> in this
mailing list. I had to make some adjustments, the script can't parse my
sogo.conf file (may be because I have some special chars in my mysql
password).

Which database URL I supposed to have in sogo.conf and which tables I
supposed to have in my database?

The server is in testing for now so I don't care about user data but it
will be in production soon.

You don’t need to synchronise users at all. You can use your existing AD as an
authentication source (pointing SOGo in sogo.conf to your AD DC).

Yes - if you plan to use ActiveSync. Alternatively, you can:

1. Not use Outlook. Options left are: Thunderbird + SOGo Connector or Webmail
client.
2. Use Outlook configured for IMAP. Use some sort of CalDav/CardDav sync tool
to enable calendars/contacts support.
3. Use Outlook configured for MAPI. For this you need SOGo + Openchange.
Openchange is an element that enables (in conjunction with SOGo) native Outlook
support. This, however requires IMO even more testing then EAS. I personally
don’t know anyone that runs Openchange in production without issues.

results. Good luck forcing your users out of Outlook ;-)

Re: [SOGo] Exchange 2003 -> Sogo

2016-03-10 Thread Martin Simovic
Hi,

I recommend you test your setup before the actual migration. ActiveSync can be
very resource demanding, especially with large mailboxes. At the moment, every
EAS connection requires a separate sogod process, which in your case means you
need 32+ GB RAM - assuming your users use Outlook only (and not the phone,
etc.) Add one more device per user (e.g. Android phone) and amount of required
RAM duplicates.

Best Regards
Martin.

Better said, you can join Samba4 to the 2012 Domain as a DC. This will
replicate information already contained in your existing 2012 managed AD.

Hi,

I have tested many groupware solutions out there, Zimbra, Zarafa amongst
others. SOGo turned out to be the best.
SOGo is not perfect. But we struggled to find anything closely as good as SOGo.

SOGo plugs into existing infrastructure (IMAP, SMTP server, Authentication
backed) and does not try to reinvent the wheel.

Thanks for your kind reply. Thing is, that iCAL4OL indeed supports
SCHEDULE-AGENT=CLIENT and I double-checked I have the option enabled.
SOGo itself seems to support this since 2014.

Still, I get duplicate meeting invitations sent when created from Outlook :(

[SOGo] Duplicate Meeting Invitations

2016-01-20 Thread Martin Simovic
Hi there,

We are experiencing problem with Duplicate Meeting Invitations being sent to
attendees. The situation is as follows:

1. Meeting organiser creates meeting via Outlook. Outlook is configured for
email via IMAP and calendars via CalDAV (iCAL4OL sync tool).
2. Outlook sends a meeting invitation immediately to attendees.
3. As soon as the event gets synced to SOGo via iCAL4OL SOGo sends a meeting
invitation too.
4. This results in duplicate invitation which is confusing to attendees.

All this seems to be related to the bug
http://www.sogo.nu/bugs/view.php?id=2599
<http://www.sogo.nu/bugs/view.php?id=2599>

Is there a fix or workaround available? What is the best approach to this
problem? SOGo version is 2.3.5-1

Many thanks

Hi,

It's look like your system use systemd.
Try to reload daemon from systemctl:

   #  systemctl|daemon-reload

Then try to start service from systemd:

   #  systemctl start sogo

Take a look on
https://wiki.debian.org/systemd#Managing_services_with_systemd for
common usage of systemd.

./configure --with-gnustep --enable-debug --disable-strip

cd /tmp/SOGo
./configure --enable-debug --disable-strip

Then I copied the sogo.init to /etc/init.d/sogo

But when I start I get

Unit sogo.service failed to load: No such file or directory.

Is this the right way to install? Or do I have to make a .deb package
and how can I make it?

I see a lot of files in packaging but I don't know how to used it.

Yes - I understand that it is a substantial amount of work required to get (and

You can or course build your own deb packages or build SOGo from source and
install directly. Here you should find instructions about how to build SOGo
from source: http://www.openchange.org/cookbook/backends/sogo/index.html

Indeed. Still it is something which you might want to do anyway at some stage.

32-bit is so rare to find on servers these days that SOGo team decided to
provide 64-bit packages only.
I came across this problem with other vendors too, (e.g. Dell OMSA) so upgraded
all servers to 64bit OS.

Samba4 is perfect authentication backend IMO, so no need to re-invent the
wheel. Even if you don’t use/need native Outlook support now, you might want to
add it later, with samba4 you’d just extend the ldap schema and you’re fine to
go. With any other backend (openldap, mysql ..) you’d have to migrate existing
users beforehand … this might be a pain since it *could* involve password
changes which, if you have 100+ users …

I believe that OS X El Capitan Mail application supports Exchange OWA/EWS
rather then Exchange Active Sync (EAS). That means that SOGo can not be
configured for Apple Mail using Exchange option, unless you use SOGo +
Openchange.

Still, the preferred way to configure SOGo on OS X would be IMAP for Apple
Mail, CaLDAV for Calendar and CardDAV for Contacts application. This works well
and reliably, I am using it myself on El Capitan right now.

Martin.

Exchange can be accessed via IMAP so in both cases you can use imapcopy or
imapsync. I used both successfully, whichever you choose is up to you.

I believe they do it since it turns commercial version more attractive compared

Re: [SOGo] activesync mobile device updates

Hi

Rather then expected behaviour, this is a bug. Simply put, if there are too
many changes (moves, deletes) to the inbox, activesync is unable to catch up,
resulting in unreal inbox view or duplicates from activesync client.

Yes you’re right, auto refresh does not work. But this problem is not related
to repository, SOGo repository contains the same packages as Zentyal COMMUNITY.
The difference is that Zentyal COMMERCIAL repository contains a dependency
package which is a dovecot-openchange module. This package is responsible for
notifying openchange about new email arrival and thus triggering mailbox
refresh in outlook.

dovecot-openchange package is not available from other source (SOGo, Zentyal)
only from Zentyal Commercial.

Not sure what you mean here. Free version of what? Openchange packages are
currently built by Zentyal regardless of repository you pull them off (SOGo,
Zentyal).

What features you thing Zentyal removed from Openchange?! Are you referring to

Very likely not. Your AD schema has been already altered with Exchange schema
extensions (introduced by openchange). If this is a test server with not active
users, I recommend purging samba data (rm /etc/samba/smb.conf, rm -r
/var/lib/samba/private, rm -r /var/lib/samba/sysvol) and provision new AD
(samba-tool domain provision). Once you did that, you can run
openchange_provision —standalone

Make sure you test EAS with reasonable amount of data before you call it
working. I am talking GB’s and thousands of messages here.

I *think* this should be possible. All three should use the same user

Via RSAT the only possible way is to add user with minimal user information
first, then change it later. E.g. when adding user ‘jdoe’ you need to set this
as username / logon name/ and display name too. Once user is created, fill in
all required attributes (Name, Surname, Display Name, email) as you wish.

samba tool user add jdoe --use-username-as-cn —given-name=John —surname=Doe
—mail-address=j...@yourdomain.com <mailto:mail-address=j...@yourdomain.com>

User created this way (CN identical to username) should not give you the
problems you mentioned.

Best Regards
Martin.

I order to help you please post your smb.conf and ocsmanager.ini files. It’d
also help if you stated how you installed your environment (compiling from
source, installing from packages - if so, wha is package source (sogo ,
zentyal?)

Martin.

1.This Samba version is not very stable when used together with openchange.
Version 4.1.17 packaged by Zentyal seems to have much less problems.
2. Does not surprise me. I believe that openchange is not production ready,
especially not with large mailboxes. Could not get it to sync my 3,5GB mailbox
reliably ever.

Martin.
