I got my phone from Telus, one of the 3 large carriers in Canada, and the
triple click home worked fine. Maybe different carriers do different things,
but from what I heard on the list it would seem that in most cases when people
get a phone from their carrier the triple click home

Siri is only going to work if you have an active network connection.
When you're setting up your phone, I'm not sure you can always make that
assumption.

know whenever about my five from Sprint, I had to have somebody enable the
triple click home for voiceover, and voiceover so that I can be able to use the

I had this happen once to me with my 5s. The only way to get triple-click home
to work again was to do a reboot by holding the home button and the sleep-wake
button to shut down the phone. It happened completely out of the blue, but
after the reboot the phone has been fine.
