point of the list right?
I know everyone loves the list but if people keep responding like

For the last few months the available space on my HD has remained
fairly static at about half the total (~80GB). I have made no recent
downloads of any large applications or other files but suddenly my HD
is almost full (147GB). My remote back up disk which has done a full
back up

Using Disk Inventory X I discovered a a complete back up of my
system. This did not appear in Finder and I am at a loss to know how
it occurred. It was dated 1st August (is this Mac's equivalent to
April 1st?). Of course this back up immediately doubled my disc usage!
Many thanks to

Regrettably this requires Office 2004 or later to be installed. I
don't have Office installed as I use Open Office 3.1. Microsoft have
bee touting xps. as a alternative to pdf but I cannot see much value
if one has to have MS Office to use it!

Does anyone know of a reasonable xps. viewer? I don't have MS Office
for Mac so currently I have to put the file in the shared folder, open
windows through parallels and then view the file using Ms's viewer.
This seems very clumsy but unlike Adobe MicroSoft dont seem to have a
