Wikimedia India.
I was travelling recently, so I must have missed the announcements for it.
Can someone fill me in about how this came to be? This looks like an

Hey Srikanth R,
Too bad this happened but I see this more as an analysis of what went wrong
with the fest than what went wrong with the Wiki session. In the past it
has happened that we conduct a session only with 4-5 people due to
miscommunication and no facilities but at the end of the day, I go

I think what logic means is we need to weigh input and output. Since our
resources are limited, I think its a fair analysis.

Some where else, someone learnt[1] time is scarcest resource and I think it
applies to our context as well. I am out of here.
While I'm no good at suggesting things, I sure hope you get some good ideas.

Hold on. We're getting derailed here. Indian standards? I send an
email to the MD of KGISL at 3am requesting a room for Wikipedia next
week and get a reply at 6am saying Yes. Was it worth it? For this, it
is worth it if the crowd understands how we work. Which didn't happen.

And regarding an 'informal agreement', I am not trying to pinch here but an
'informal MoU' kind of sounds self-contradictory, no? Also it would be
great if we could have a copy of it publicly, just for future reference on

So, why didn't they understand? What went wrong? You admitted that you
didn't prepare in advance. Also, do you want help with making
easier-understandable presentations? I want that analysis in this mail and
not a report on how they managed it badly. Let's talk of things we can
control.

I was just trying to ask why this is a great fiasco. We do at least 4-5
outreach events every month and maybe some self evaluation will help.
That's all. Sorry for making it stupid , not my intention.

Noopur, thanks but Nitika gave me an excellent one. As for fiasco, you
put a bird in cage and ask it to fly, wit happens? We went prepared

It's not a binding contract. Hence it was informal. Also, wasn't it me

Hey Srikanth,
Let's start fresh. I think you put in tremendous effort and it is a shame
that you put in so much of work and call it a great fiasco. In my humble
opinion, every experience is good to learn. I was simply asking you to
concentrate more on the session and tell us what was good and bad
Ah. Cool.
Sure thing. I think list of prerequisites, description of programming
skills needed and estimation of difficulty level would be more valuable
additions.
