I reset the TRX and checked the VFO´s that there is no split. After that, I
switch the trx to a different frequency via the WSJTX-2.3.0 I get split

FWIW, I experience the exact same symptoms with WSJT-X v2.4.0-rc1 on Ubuntu
20.04 when I choose the default sound device. It doesn't matter what audio
device I set the default to (using Ubuntu settings).

up in pavucontrol with that selection? Wsjtx does work if I use the hw: device
but my goal is to have it working with pulse. Pulse allows multiple apps or
instances to share the same source or sink.

I have been struggling to get wsjtx working on my Ubuntu 20.04 64bit
Desktop. When I started I had version 2.1.1 then upgraded to 2.3.0 but
there was no change in behavior. Rig is a FT991A using builtin USB sound
device. Cat works OK. I can set Audio to Pulse for both Rx and TX in
wsjtx
I've got a completely separate app that generates a sine wave and it does the
same thing.
Ergo...Windows bug. This was probably introduced several months ago and nobody

Depending on the settings, the waterfall does a visual dynamic
compression, such that very weak signals are still visible next to very
strong signals. I.e. a -70 dB signal is well visible next to a -3 dB signal.
That's a feature, not a bug ;)
