No, there's a reason that he could have successfully appealed. But instead, he opted to run, and should now face the consequences for that decision. I concede that I am overly harsh on those who flee the justice system. I am against the death penalty, but I endorse allowing police officers to use lethal force to stop someone evading them (in other words, high speed pursuits that put cops and bystanders at risk). I don't care if the suspect is only wanted for stealing Mentos; you do what law enforcement says, or you need to be aware that they will move against you. -- Kevin M.
