Just FYI, the power consumption of a mini-itx (15W idle - 30W max) is very comparable to a linkstation (17W). Assuming perfect conditions (which are unlikely) you'll save maybe 10W with the linkstation. That's 87kWh/year, assuming a cost of $0.10/kWh that's a whopping $8.70 saved per year. I leave it to you to determine if that's worth a significant increase in hassle and decrease in performance.
It's also worth noting that the idle mini-itx (or linkstation for that matter) with disks spun down would cost around $13 per year to run. -- radish ------------------------------------------------------------------------ radish's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=77 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=18586 _______________________________________________ unix mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/unix
