thank you sir. Now, in the tutorial I mentioned the creator of that tutorial indicated there was an option to append files within the file menu. I'm not finding it what might I be missing if it's there? -Original Message- From: Barry Chapman Sent: Sunday, September 03, 2017 22:27 To: 'PC Audio Discussion List' Subject: RE: appending files with mp3 direct cut Hi Ray, The way I do it is: 1. Open the file you wish to append. 2. Select all and copy it to the clipboard with ctrl+a followed by ctrl+c. 3. Open the file you wish to append to. If you get a warning about the first file, select no you don't want to save it. 4. Move to the end of the file by pressing the end key. 5. Press ctrl+v to paste from the clipboard. 6. You should be positioned where the append takes place, so you can use your arrow keys to move back a little then press the spacebar to play across the join. 7. If you need to cut a bit to make it a clean append, you can use the b and n keys to mark the section you want to delete. Use the numbers 1 and to to adjust the starting point back or forward and the 3 and 4 keys to adjust the end. Press f9 to hear what it sounds like across the join. Is it possible for an administrator to be able to tell if you are recording a stream as apposed to simply listening to the stream on a program like Winamp, or any other player for that matter? The problem I am having is even after setting a scheduled session for recording a particular program, TR will record for a few minutes, maybe 20 or 30, and though the recording is continuing, at least it appears that way, the audio simply stops being input to the potential recorded product. I have set the program up to reconnect to the stream in an unlimited fashion, but this simply does no good, I still rarely get a complete recording, at least not for the past few weeks. This is a recent Phenomena. I have been making weekly recordings of this program for many years, and have never experienced anything quite like this. I was asked to check this out from a user point of view and didn't find it accessible. Firstly my apology; I was going through my deleted items, clearing them out when I came across your email. somehow it went straight to my deleted items rather than my in box. I would have replied sooner if I had seen it so sorry about that. OK. This is my initial input regarding the site. The music is displayed clearly and the play button is easy to find and activate but that is where the simplicity ends and the problems begin. Once you have activated the play button and the music plays, there is no way you can use the other play controls because the music drowns out the screen reader and as there is no keyboard short cut keys trying to use them is a hiding to nothing. You have to wait for a quiet passage in the audio before trying frantically to find a control but the quiet period never lasts long enough for you to find what you want. This is the free version and I noticed there is a Pro service but I guess you have to pay for that but there is no way of telling if the pro version is any more accessible than the free version and in any case, the people who would want to play any files you upload would use the free service. As I've said I've only looked at the site briefly and when I discovered getting to the play controls during playback was problematic I didn't go any further. As with WMP, if there were short cut keys such as Control+s for stop or Control+p for pause or control+m for mute Control+or+control +r for rewind then it would be a good service to utilise. It might be +you can map the keyboard and create these shortcuts but I'd need to look further into the site and I'll do that as soon as I can. Of course this initial summery is from a blind point of view. People with hearing loss or other disabilities but who have site, or even some partially sighted folk would be able to use it. Unfortunately though if you have no usable sight and in the absence of play controls accessibility then it wouldn't be of any use to them. Nonetheless you have to consider the majority of people who would use the facility and a minority group shouldn't be allowed to veto something because they are disenfranchised; you can please all of the people some of the time and some of the people all of the time but you will never please all of the people all of the time. This doesn't mean that solutions aren't sought to resolve the disenfranchisement and that might be by linking to another service. a few more goldwave questions relating to JAWS
Item 1 when I start recording JAWS babbles. Would hiding the control window stop that? As an aside, JAWS is routed through a dedicated sound device so it's not sharing anything. I have WindowsXP home on my downstairs laptop, Jaws V10 and GW V5.70 with associated Jim Grimsbey scripts. My speech is routed through an external synth but I do not get jaws babbble. My upstairs desktop machine is a Windows7, JawsV14 and GW V5.70 system. My speech and other system sounds are routed through an audiotech internal soundcard, all others through can't remember what card. again, no Jaws babble. I suspect it's something to do with verbosity settings and check the help for the scripts, you can toggle such things as labels and progress messages. I have never needed to use any kind of passthrough key, all movement functions so far used work straight away, just ensure in the view menu ScrolLock is checked keystroke for this is control with l. I always have my recording control window hidden. I sincerely hope you have enabled the scrub feature, found on the play control following the wind settings. By default it is 0.000 mine is set to 0.150 this gives me adequate feedback when moving arrow or marker or cursor keys and certainly speeds editting by a good 90%.

I think this product is around $50 so no, not too expensive, if you want something that will dazzle and excite you with its performance then try something like the Senheiser MM-500. It has both DLNA and Bluetooth streaming so you can stream to it from another device. Whilst this radio doesn’t have speech it does have a whole heap of stuff that makes the unit fairly useable, the radio has a keypad on the remote which allows the entry of text - similar to a telephone or mobile phone keypad - therefore you can - if you take your time - do searching for specific radio stations. The radio also boasts a large number of presets which are easily accessed via the included remote so - as you can see - the radio has a few things in its favour. On 24 Jul 2015, at 4:56 pm, Ray T. logitech h800 issues
Yesterday I started getting the low battery alert even though the device was connected to mains power. My first thought was that the cable or internal connection may have been damaged. I have no way of verifying visually the status of the headset end of the cable or the internal connection. I tested with 2 computers in the event of a problem with the machine I normally use the headset on and got the same result. I also tried reseating the battery with no success. This leads to a battery question, what is the lifecycle of the headset battery assuming a USB charging connection and what is the lifecycle assuming a mains power charging connection? There's a pannel that you turn a quarter turn to the left, then let the pannel fall open. You'll then see the battery, and a slot for the nano receiver.

The Headset has a USB Micro port on the right hand side for charging though it could possibly be used for other things like firmware updates? That I'm not sure of but its main purpose is for charging. You would have received a micro USB plug to standard USB connector lead with the headset which is for the use of charging the headset, you plug one end into the headset whilst the other end plugs into a standard USB socket on a computer, external battery, power supply or whatever, the voltage is the same about 5 volts. Whilst the headset is charging it can be used hence the rather lengthy USB connecting cable supplied. The H800 headset has 2 wireless modes, one is Bluetooth 2.0 - for use with Smart Phones etc - and Wireless 2.4GHZ - for use with your computer using the supplied dongle -. The dongle plugs into a USB socket of your computer and will be recognised by Windows, Mac etc as a separate sound device so you can for example configure such software as Skype to recognise the microphone of the H800 and the speakers being the H800 headset. When not in use the dongle stores away in a handy compartment found on the left hand side of the headset under a cap, rotate anti clockwise and the cap comes off revealing 2 compartments, one for the rechargeable lithium ion battery and the other for storage of the dongle, replace the cap and turn clockwise, the cap will snap back into place. RE: Stereo AM
that sounds like the same attitude the FCC took we're not going to tell you how to do it but if you want to then have at it. It wasn't marketed very well over here either. Ray T. Mahorney WA4WGA -Original Message- From: Pc-audio [mailto:pc-audio-boun...@pc-audio.org] On Behalf Of Dane Trethowan Sent: Wednesday, April 09, 2014 04:41 To: PC Audio Discussion List Subject: Re: Stereo AM Slight corrections required here smile. AM Stereo was Pushed for cars and I can tell you exactly which manufacturers were paid to put Stereo AM into their products as I was working in the car industry myself at the time, never seen so many sales brochures pertaining to one particular topic at any one time. So the manufacturers were Rover, Holden (GM) - in their Berlenia and Kellett Comodore models -, SAAB, Mercedes, Jagua, Nissan - in their Pintara and above - some rebadge Nissan cars sold by Ford, Reindriver. There are stations still broadcasting Stereo AM in Australia as I reported earlier, the one I know of is 2CA in Canberra. Stereo AM - as Barry says - never took off in Australia because the format really never had a chance to, unlike digital radio Stereo AM was never given any proper launch, all stations were told was that if they wanted to Broadcast in Stereo AM - and many did because of the financial squeeze being placed upon them by the new FM commercial stations - then they could go right ahead from February 1st 1985 and most stations were broadcasting in that format on or by that date. I know that many stations in the Melbourne area were broadcasting in this format long before February 1ST thus these stations had a head start in the game, they were able to Tweak the performance of the transmitter and equipment, experiment with the various methods of Stereo AM around at the time, gage listener feed back from myself and another person I know who I reckon were probably just about the only people who had AM Stereo sets in Melbourne at one stage of the game. The Stereo AM sets were far more expensive than other radios available and were low in stock thus consumers weren't interested, Why should I pay 5 times the price for a Stereo AM set when the FM one is cheaper and still receives AM which I don't really want to listen to anyway as it sounds dreadful on the radio I have. Then there was the court battle over which AM Stereo method should be used in Australia which - though finally resolved - didn't help matters, as mentioned earlier som manufacturers such as Sony took matters into their own hands. There were also interference issues though I never personally experienced any! in all my time of using Stereo AM sets, things were so bad in Sydney at one stage that Radio 2Uw and others wouldn't transmit in Stereo AM between 7 A.M. and 7 P.M.. Because of the expensive nature of a Stereo AM set other solutions were soon devised and they found their way onto the market. For example, you could buy a Stereo AM Converter which you tuned to the Stereo AM frequency and then the converter would transmit that received signal onto a predetermined frequency on the FM band for your car stereo to receive. The cheapest AM Stereo tuner I ever saw was one sold by radio shack, I saw it as low as $50 and it was amazingly simple but yet so amazingly affective and quality was very reasonable, I know many inghusiests still have these tuners to this day and most have had mods done on them of various kinds to make them even better. And finally, the other big problem with Stereo AM was the lack of self-contained systems such as Music Centers and the like featuring Stereo AM, Voxon was the only firm that marketed such devices. To my knowledge, the last AM Stereo unit ever made was by Sony in 1995 which marketed the 25th Anerversary Walkman model which had Am Stereo as part of it, I'm fortunate enough to own one of those sets. A new standard of Stereo AM was proposed but by the mid 90's manufacturers had given the whole idea away completely and this standard meant spending yet more money on completely new chips, I don't know the name of the standard proposed but I do know that the band width was far wider than what we had been used to up until this time. Many people dismiss Am Stereo as Rubbish but I certainly do not, with a good radio and a good signal Stereo AM sounded nearly as good - in fact some what better - than many processed FM singnals. As for music stations in Australia, there are still many that transmit on AM - in stereo or not - which still do very well: 2CH in Sydney, Magic 1278 and My MP in Melbourne, Magic 882 and 4KQ in Brisbane, Cruise 1323 in Adelaide and many other country stations, music will always be a part of AM radio in Australia because of the long distances AM is able to travel and be heard. On 8 Apr 2014, at 9:06 am, Barry Chapman ba...@bchapman.id.au wrote: This is true. However, AM stereo never really took off in Australia, other than for car

In this eMail I'd like to refer to another way of recording Skype calls, if you have a Mac you can use Audio Hijack Pro, all you need do is run the App and select the Record From Skype template and tweak to your requirements. When the Hijack mode from Record To Skype is enabled a Skype call will be recorded whenever Audio Hijack Pro detects any audio activity from Skype. Further to this Audio Hijack Pro is fully compatible with Apple Automator Scripts and workflows therefore offering further enhancement and automation of the Skype recording process, you could for example have a Skype call recorded an automatically put into an iTunes playlist, have the call logged or archived etc, its all down to your imagination. Automator Scripts and workflows are easily put together through the Apple Automator Application which forms part of OSX Mavericks and earlier OSX Operating Systems. I will put these steps down first and then explain more. 1. I press the letter q to make sure cuing is on. 2. 2. I then press the spacebar to start the sound byte playing. 3. 3. Next, I would hold down the left shift key and arrow to the right. 4. Sound forge would play the sound byte as I move to the right, stopping when I stop arrowing. However, now in order to hear where my selection has stopped, I have to listen through the whole section that has been selected. This takes up much more time. I am not sure what has gotten unchecked or changed and am hoping someone on this list does. So simply put, I once could just select the sound and soundforge would just play the selected data. If I stopped arrowing, sound would stop immediately. If I moved the arrow right or left, sound would respond immediately with the new stopping place. I hope I explained my question. I would be glad to share my phone off list withsomeone if they are willing to help out. It is probably something I accidently checked off or on. Thanks for reading this long email.

RE: Winamp and Lists
assuming the files are in the same location press shift L winamp will prompt you to open folder find the folder and press enter on it. The folder will play. Alternately if your playlist editor window is open, press L the machine will prompt you to add files to playlist. Find the files select them and press enter. Now assuming you select all 10 they will play and be added to a playlist which can either be saved as an m3u or pls file. If you want to be able to call those songs then within the playlist editor CTRL S you will be prompted to save the playlist Call it what you want put it where you want put it on the desktop if you like. As long as the files it points to are in the same location they will be played whenever you activate the playlist file. Is that what you were after? Ray T. re: need helping with humming on blue yeti pro.
You're getting some good tips on this and I found the link to Mic technique good. Whatever mic you are using you will get this problem if its sitting directly above the computer. I've moved my Rode mic over to another purch to the side of the desk, and though its not very convenient it cuts down the hum and vibration quite a bit. I speak pretty close to the mic without encouraging pops. Sometimes I use a bit of base roll-off in the audio editor. One more thing which can help is a mic shock mount, which should isolate the mic from stand-borne noise. Hope some of that helps. Ray.

However, once installed, it's operation is automatic and you don't need to do anything with it. It is probably preferable to have someone sighted help wet the manager in the first place. There is no cloud storage. You download the music in 320 kbps mp3 and it's then yours to do with as you will. Making a backup copy is advised because if you want to download it again, they will charge you the same amount you paid for it. You can buy tracks or albums a la carte i.e. without a membership or you can purchase various levels of membership to get a reduced price per track. I find the membership route to be the most economical. The selection is probably not as complete as Amazon or iTunes, but it's pretty extensive. Best thing to do is check for several artists/albums you'd be interested in to see if they meet your needs. - Original Message - From: Kris Hickerson krishicker...@att.net To: 'PC Audio Discussion List' pc-audio@pc-audio.org Sent: Sunday, January 05, 2014 3:11 PM Subject: RE: buying music Is emusic.com easier to use than Amazon and do they store your music in the cloud? The option which was previously mentioned is found in the Station Playlist Studio main window under the Output tab, Recording subtab. However, and I may be mistaken in this, this option may only be available with the Pro license. An equally good way to get the job done is to fake connecting to a broadcast server with the plugin and DSP of your choice. The way you fake it is to set the reconnect time high so you don't keep trying to do it every two seconds, then plug in a fake accress, preferably one that doesn't translate to anything real. Best way to do that is to either make it blank or put an exclamation point in front of whatever you have set up that's otherwise valid. In this way, you can use your favorite compresser/limiter plugin and have it applied to the audio in the MP3. Saves you a step later. Only thing you'll have to do is trim the beginning because the archive file gets created immediately, then you start playing your program into it. I'm on an e-mail list for broadcast engineers and I can ask which file format is preferred if you want to record your program and send the file to them. I think most stations have an FTP site that programs can be sent to, then the station just programs the file into their automation system. Many blind people use StationPlaylist to broadcast over the Internet. Years ago there was a Main Menu program on ACBRadio explaining how to use Winamp for the same purpose. Stations don't usually like live programming sent to them over the public Internet. The other methods, ISDN or satellite get expensive. Tom ** Your Message ** Hi. I have it in mind to market a syndicated show to Internet radio stations. Content will consist of music and my voice. The microphone is not an issue. Beyond that, my problem is that I don't know where to start when it comes to what I need in order to use the computer to perform and record my audio. For instance, as a DJ, what's the best way to get music onto the computer while making it flow as one would a traditional radio show? Hardware? Software? Additionally, I'm not certain of the best tools to use for getting my audio to the online stations who will play it. I'm sure it would, as I've seen it mentioned here before. But thus far I've been unable to discover how it can play a role in my project, as I will be marketing a show rather than launching an Internet station.. Undoubtedly I'm missing something. However, one has to do a bit of tweaking to make the app navigable. For one thing, the main menu buttons at the bottom are unlabeled as far as Voiceover is concerned, so one does have to create custom labels which you do with a 2-finger double tap and hold gesture. Actifating the categories button enables you to browse the channels, which is much more than can be said of the SXM listening webpage.
