They never seem to come apart in any obvious way so you often end up breaking concealed plastic clips and stuff. A few years ago I changed out the shocks and RSM's on a friend's Z3. Instead of taking out the rear interior trim panels, I determined the location of the shock top and then used a hole saw to drill down through the hard plastic trim and its underlying insulation. This provided access to disassemble the factory RSM's from above. After reassembly I used front strut tower plastic caps from, I think, an E34 to cover the holes. (Obviously you choose the right size hole saw for the caps.) These caps have a slight lip on them which perfectly conceals any raggedness around the edge of the hole. The end result is a perfectly finished factory-looking installation. My bet is that the same method can be used on other BMW models. Interesting accessory Message-ID: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> When I was in college, in the mid/late '60s, a friend of mine wired a PA system into his '55 Chevy, with speakers front and rear. When aggravated, he could switch to his speaker of choice, and give someone a piece of his mind. Pretty hilarious at times, watching the reaction of those on the receiving end of his comments. I'm not sure how that would fly in these days of rage, though. Mark Selleck Dennis Liu wrote: >http://www.roadmasterusa.com/accessories_rm.php (first one on the page) > >Tempted. Message-ID: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> I just drove back to work from having my annual state inspection (MA) and noticed that my odometer lights were now out. They were fine on the way there as I remember noting the mileage. Any hints? I know they plug something in via a trapdoor in the dash-bottom to read out the OBDII... Car is a 1999 323is (yup, E36, coupes changed in MY2000). Two Torx screws (T-20? - I just did this on the M3, and I've forgotten already) to loosen the cluster, pull it out, disconnect 3 wiring harness (they're locking-type, a bit of a PITA the first time), slide cluster out to the right. Yes, you can do this withOUT removing the steering wheel - it's a tight fit, but possible. Uses a small 1.2 or 1.5W bulb (probably the 1.2W: possible p/n 62 13 1 383 311).
