Group,

My email's to Eibach USA are apparently in some black hole on Al Gore's
internet.

Does anyone know of a supplier willing/able to source a set of European market
Eibach Pro-kit springs.

On another topic, anyone tried the Koni FSD shocks? Several of the enthusiast
mag's have made positive comments but I would like to hear from some real world
folks.

Thanks,

Matt Weimer

Dennis, a guy in Georgia sent me a pair of re-covered E30 sport seats a few
years ago. He boxed them and sent them UPS to me in CA. They arrived in good
condition. Other than being inside large boxes, I don't recall that any
special packing was done. I don't recall the cost, just the condition upon
arrival.

Subject: In need of a S52-compatible head
Message-ID: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>

I finally was able to get the head off my 98 M3 last night had have some
good news and bad news. Good news is that the oil and coolant were
clean, and all of the mechanical bits I've seen (cams, VANOS sprockets,
valves, pistons, cylinder walls, etc) all look new. The head gasket, as
far as I can tell, was in great shape.

The bad news is that means the problem I've got (coolant leaking into
the #3 plug well) points to a cracked head. :-(

Soooo, anybody have a S52-compatible head for sale?

The head is at the machinists, and they may find something that can be
fixed, but I'm preparing for needing a new one. I'm pretty sure all of
the guts (based on the complete lack of visible wear on the cams) can be
simply switched over to a new bare head.

I don't have one, but just so you can broaden your search, you can use
the head from any M50TU, S50US or S52 engine, regardless of engine capacity.

OK, I'll bite. Just the cams and/or displacement changes between the 3?

Still thinking about how coolant could get into a plug well with any
other
route except through metal or someone spilled it in there?

Thanks,

The only thing I (and the others I've talked to about it) could come up
with is either a crack in the head or some kind of casting-related
porosity issue that allows coolant under pressure to migrate from one of
the cooling passages into the plug well. Looking into the plug well from
both ends, I cannot see any cracks, but I don't have a borescope, either.

I'd be delighted to find a less expensive solution to the problem, but
head replacement seems to be the only route I can find.

If the machinist can't find any obvious problem I'm going to see if we
can rig up something to pressurize the cooling passages to see if we can
force the leak to happen. Might need to warm everything up to temp, though.
