These guys know their jobs are on the line. What is some guy sitting at a desk or call center going to do about it? He is possibly fully aware that he has a good job while it lasts.
Summit has web ordering and telephone ordering. Last year I ordered some stuff via the telephone, the price was the same as the web. The sales guy said I can buy in either method, but he gets a commission if I order it through him. I do all my picking via the web, then call it in to an agent. However, at summit, there are two ways to have an order taken by a person: one of them you go to a person who just asks for part numbers, and they don't know any thing about anything about cars. The person I recall was a lady with medium english skills. The other way is to get technical assistance with your order, those folks know more about cars. SM, I don't think you are missing anything. Somewhere in an office there is a guy watching internet vs. phone order ratios. He looks like Mr. Smithers in The Simpson's, with his palms and finger tips together and he is saying "Eexxcceelleenntt!". Mark
