I don't think actually that it is meant as insulting. It is not a
matter of COULD you compare and contrast the UK breed standard with the
two U.S. standards and the Canadian standard and come up with
suggestions on whether or not the word "gay" is effecting the way judges
view tailset, but rather..........do you WANT to do this. Most pet
owners really want a companian in their home and wish to keep up with
news of their breed. We have enough trouble getting breeders to
volunteer for the more arduous tasks involving study and work of other
sorts.
So, then if pet owners are invited to join the breed club as voting
members and don't keep up with the issues they look to the person who
they most trust to advise them. It is instinct. In some cases in the
past that has caused huge block voting. I don't want to insult any
breeders at all, but there are some breeders in both clubs who breed
many more dogs than I could imagine breeding.......and therefore have
many more pet owners to lobby.
