Excuse me?? This "sport" is made up of living, breathing, little creatures, and frankly, my "investment" as "only a pet owner" is just as great as ANY breeders. We make an initial investment in the rather large cost of a Cavalier, and then spend untold hours educating ourselves on health issues, when we must minister to the ails of our beloved pets. No, we don't whelp litters of puppies, but we do live with the results of those litters every day. And, by the way, us plain old pet folk make it possible for breeders to continue their "sport." It doesn't seem reasonable to want to deny us a say in the direction of the breed.
