What kind of developers? Those wanting to work on OOo itself or those trying to integrate/remote control OOo? > Would you have them at all go to the development page? Those looking for integraion/remote control, etc. Yes, definitely. I regard the development page as a great ressource for this kind of task since it has a broad overview of * the possibilities on how to integrate with OOo * documentation on how to do that * examples that already do that. * easy navigation (organized by categories, don't have to search forever for the right link) Those who want contribute to OOo itself could follow the contribute link -> programming (again this is for new users not knowing where to start). Maybe the programming.html could be rearranged so that the "Where can I help" comes before "Now that I have some code, how can I upload it". The linked ToDo list is a good starting point for new contributors. (The other items are good as well) Although the ToDo list itself could need some rework (has wrong navbar, bad navigation). > For > I agree that experienced developers do not probably go there. > > FWIW, the to-dos listed from there get a lot of hits, and is usually in > the top 100. See above. Certainly not the potential "new contributors" but those looking for help on extending OOo for their particular needs. (extending: don't change the OOo source itself, but write Macros or other programs that remote-control OOo) > And again, we both want to reduce redundancy and make it easier. Not necessary (IMHO). We already have that on the download page. And the contribution page contains a section "monetary donations" This should read as: not necessary to have that link in one of the "main navigation areas" (like the tabs). It is fine to have some text like "If you like OOo, consider a <donation>" or like the mozilla folks have it: "Please consider supporting our ongoing efforts to provide the world with a free, faster, more powerful, and more secure Internet experience. Donate Now" replace the Internet experience by some OOo marketing-stuff :-) They have the "Donate" link as part of the Footer. We can have occastional requests as main content (besides the download :-) - like the current gnome site. ciao Christian -- NP: J.B.O. - Verteidiger des Blïdsinns --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED] For additional commands, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED]
