As I said before, many of them don't even know what VoiceOver is. One
of the first questions I get asked is, "What's that?" It's part of OS
X and they don't even know what it is. I can understand them not
knowing a lot about VoiceOver, the fact that they don't even know it's
part of the OS they are suppose to know about really is wrong.
Especially the fact that Apple charges for the AppleCare service. I've
been really pleased with some service needs that I had and I am really
glad I purchased the AppleCare plan. However, to not even be able to
acknowledge that VoiceOver is even a product of Apple...

needs to know every! stinkin! thing, about voiceover, but I think
they need to at least! know the basics enough to show individuals
like this how to go about finding the info etc. At the very! least,
they need to know about vo+command+F8, and that is bare minimum.

Chris, my only argument here is that first you have the resources
to find out some of this info on your own in advance. Secondly and
we have to be honest here, there is a lot they are expected to
know in order to sell something to the majority of users. I bet
you could count the number of those who are blind or visually
impaired that have come into an Apple store specifically looking
for a Mac and VoiceOver. Does it make it right? No, but reality is
that unless you have a lot of folks coming in asking about this
VOiceOver thing, they aren't going to have a lot of need to learn
all there is. Again, doesn't make it right and in some ways it
doesn't make it wrong, it's just a matter of time and
demographics. If you have a great deal of demand for this product
etc. your more likely to learn or need to learn it. Additionally
most the actual sales people only need to know the basics to move
product, not be experts. Hopefully this makes some sense.
