IF it has a beginning, it didn't exist prior to that beginning, so it couldn't ever be infinite thereafter because the expansion occurs at a finite rate, and for a finite time. If it was infinite before it emerged, it didn't have a beginning at T = 0. As I have said, infinity and beginning are mutually exclusive. So we live in a universe which doesn't have a beginning and is infinite in spatial extent and flat, OR a finite universe with a beginning and shaped like a hyper-sphere.
