Shouldnt the print head display flash or something if a print head is acting up?
And yes, I did try the maintenance online and it gets me to the SORRY That page was not found, ..The page you are looking for is no longer available or has been moved. To see if the page is still available or to find similar information, please try the following: and so on. So...I will dig out the CD with the utility. I am thinking it formally steps you thru the head clean, align, Image quality and repeat cycle. I just tried using 10% windex and rest distilled water on the head very gently to clean the dry ink, and the Yellow looked a bit on the dry side...meaning there was hardly any ink on it, and that is one that is not printing much of. I have 12 proofs nesting in EFI RIP, that need to go to magazines tomorrow Fedex... and so far I have spent 5 to 6 hours going back and forth. the first 2 hours went to printing the 12 proofs with the red toned (maybe no yellow)...what a waste of paper and ink, as they are all heavy coverage. All I can think of doing is a HARD clean cycle and an ALIGN. what else is there? As far as my PRINTHEADS....they are not showing up on the display as a problem, but I do understand that they surely are part of the problem if not directly. Ya think you use only the HP inks, and paper and all so this doesnt happen, BAM!...just when I do proofs. I just pulled the Yellow print head and wiped it on a soft lintfree cloth. another HARD cycle and I will do a print image quality page, and perhaps align again. I looked for the CD so maybe the utility will tell me something other than what I am doing now...I doubt it...but I can hope. ------------------------------------ Website: http://groups.yahoo.com/group/HPDesignJet_Printers Post message: [email protected] Subscribe: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Unsubscribe: [EMAIL PROTECTED] List owner: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Yahoo!
