Flip the iMac upside down. Remove the back vent cover that covers the VGA out port. Remove the two screws that are under that vent cover. Remove the two screws near the flip up foot by the front of the iMac. Grasp the plastic bottom and pull it up and out from the back side of the iMac. The front side is held in by tension on the plastic. It will take a small amount of force, and you should hear the plastic clips release as you tilt the cover up. Once that is removed, remove the 6 (? its been a while, but I think it was 6) screws that hold the metal shield down. Remove the metal shield, being careful to slip it off the VGA port on the back (you have to kind of lift from the front, and slip it backwards as you lift to clear the VGA port). After the shield is removed, the entire logic board is exposed. To reassemble, reverse the proceedure. Slip the metal shield over the VGA port and then down into place. Replace the screws. Put the plastic base back on with the screen side going in first and under the lip of the screen bezel. Then drop it down into place. Replace the screws.
